More need be said about the terrible pop -in at short close distance, flickering, etc, on current gen consoles. I can't imagine how bad this will run on last gen. Considering they didnt update the engine, its just more terrible fromsoft optimization here. If this was a major graphical change with new items, and animations, etc i could see the sacrifices need be made in an open world
however here we have early ps4 engine, reusing assets, animations, even complete character models, and it still has to be paired down to show a ton of close range texture and asset pop in and lighting flickering.
Now before i get the typical its not about graphics its about immersions, art design, story, gameplay etc. ALL OF THOSE THINGS are dependent also on how the game looks and performs in order to not break immersion. I truly hope that enough be honest and offer constructive criticism on these technical problems so that perhaps they get patched at some point. Maybe a next gen version will eventually release that makes this look less like dark souls 3 open world, and more like a new IP with new graphical enhancements.
I say this as a long time From Soft fan, who loved Kings field for the attributes that served as the foundation for the souls genre and have played every from soft game since aside from some of the Core games.
