have to be honest the ps3 never lived up to my expectations as a consumer but it still has the best controller for my hands. and to me had the best games. i wouldnt have thought games like the last of us would be the best games. i like the last of us but the last gaurdian was on my radar and another excusive medal gear was what i was thinking we could get. to be honest what hurt sony was the system's architecture. having memory load only on the spu was not a good idea. and really only having 256 of raw ram was a killer too. games like the last of us can easily run on xbox. and i thought by the time we got to this point there would be games that were made that the xbox couldnt run. so satified over all about the console just not what i thought it would be.

Is there a reason for 36?

@Diegoctba Isn't that what a new generation is supposed to be? An upgrade from the last? Keep the good things, improve them, add some new stuff, get rid of the bad things.

Two franchise have me coming back to buy a PlayStation console. Metal Gear Solid and Grand Theft Auto. They're available on the PC also, but I prefer playing them on the PlayStation console.

I'll never forget the fact that I bought it a few years after launch at an amazing price with a free copy of Arkham City and a free second controller. Strangely enough, I have never had a single complaint about it.

Valkyria Chronicles made me glad I shelled out the $200 for my old used fat Japanese PS3.

Naughty Dog alone is enough reason to choose Playstation.

Believe it or not, I'm getting one (PS3 slim 120 GB) tomorrow no matter that PS4 is right behind the corner. It's a almost-like-new used one and I got it for 125 EUR with 2 controllers and 2 great games. For 70 EUR I got 6 games more from eBay. So, it's quite a deal! :) and it'll be my first console - I used to be a PC gamer. PS4 - hmmmm, may be next year or even 2015.

Great time to buy. You can get a PS3 with tonnes of games right now for really cheap. All the killzones, uncharted, last of us, god of war etc. I'm an xbox guy, but with all this stuff out and for so cheap....I might be buying. i'm a little late to the party i know

I thoroughly enjoyed my PS3. We had many memorable nights together, it and I.

The PS3 was ok, I had two PS3 and both died to the YLOD. I mean, I had it for a good 6-7 years but it doesn't change the fact that when the system develops a problem. It is unrecoverable. I had one with a BluRay Scanner problem, I brought it to the shop and had it fix just to break within 3 months. As for the other, it died instantly as the system somehow got overheated. The shop said they can't fix it. So I would say it is a good system, but its not superior since it is not durable. I am comparing this to PS2, I had it for the entire lifespan of the system and brought it around to my friends' house. I must admit, I did not use extra care to treat my PS3, but it was stationary most of the time so I figured it was built solid. Finally, my question is should I take care of the system like a PC with air spray can to clean the dust?
