Awesome game! The only MMO I've ever played with persistent housing!

That said, it's the crafting and economics that make it, not the combat or story (though I found them to be comparable to WoW's)

Hopefully the queues have died out by now. They were well justified though as the game is about ownership and the more servers they add the more fragmented the economy.

Give it a try, it costs nothing after all.

Before you go on Metacritic or even look at the Gamespot user score, this game DOES NOT deserve a 3.5 (or even a 6) The reason it has these scores is because atm it has server issues (particularly regarding 3 hour queues at peak hours. The game itself is fantastic, however.

As someone who's not very into crafting, I'm not quite seeing a reason to play this game over Guild Wars 2, which has been my go-to MMO since it came out. Having to take quests from NPCs with exclamation points over their heads, read their dialog blurbs, then return to NPCs with question marks over their heads is something I don't think I can go back to. GW2 pretty much left that system in the dust.

The crafting, boats, player housing and all that in Archeage seem to be moving the genre forward, but in its questing and combat (or the "moment to moment" as Kevin says) it feels like it hasn't budged--and for me personally, questing and combat are the most important aspects of a MMO, since they make up the bulk of what you'll be doing. The combat looks flashy, but still feels the same as any other MMO. And when I tried the beta, I was disappointed to find myself in yet another area overcrowded with boars and foxes, serving no purpose other than to stand there and be slaughtered. I was actually saying to myself "Okay, where are the typical newbie area boars...come on out" and sure enough...

I'm really looking forward to this. Unfortunately I can't get into the game due to queues. I suppose that is to be expected on launch day, but it's disappointing to have hour-long waits. You would think game developers would learn from their past mistakes and have enough server space to show new players why their game is better than other MMO's.

Kevin VanOrd is good at his job. He asks the right questions on these streams, every time. He is not afraid to bring up topics like micro transactions but is always respectful and interesting in his methods.

Im glad he brought attention to ArcheAge, i knew nothing of it before this vid, but now im interested in checking it out.

I'v enjoyed beta and i'l dive into when it get released, I was not hooked into other MMO's soo much after wow except this. so many things to do . 110 class , build own ship,fortress,car,houses,farm,mounts etc , PVP , 2 faction and 3rd one pirate that everyone hates coz they steal , great combat , Big open world verry big, Pve's awesome also.

I had the privilege to be invited into the beta and the game is great, can't wait until 10 am...

everything about this MMO seems amazing apart from 1 very apparent and crucial thing, the graphics for a 2014 game and cryengine based are fucking horrid, this looks like a throw back to 2004, all of those features and no way to get immersed into it

Never forget that the testing phase of this game was placed behind a paywall for the North American region.

Could they have chose a worse spokesperson? And this streams quality is so bad. #L2HYPEGAMES

It would probably be helpful to put in the header that this is a live steam and doesn't start for another 3+ hours.

i will not work ... the queue for the game has been over one hour :)
