Well, it IS a teaser trailer. Although it seems a tad late to release a teaser, 2 and a half months before release. And to make this the featured trailer on game's page here, though that might be GSpot's fault. Unless, incredibly, this is the only trailer. Let's see...
I spent months of my life playing BG and Icewind Dale. I love this style of tactical role-playing game. Can't wait! :DThey need to make more games like this with today's horsepower. And keep the overhead cam!
Too funny the title of the video say's Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, yet at the end of the video it just say's BG coming soon. Btw anybody know if this new edition is coming download only, or retail as well?! Happy gaming guy's!!!!!!!!!!
This game could be the best of all time and give me a handy even... and I'd still shake my head at it for wasting my time watching a trailer that had absolutely nothing worthwhile in it .
Good thing the game has a great foundation and mechanics already because if they put as much effort into the "Enhanced Edition" as they did this trailer... then it'll be worthless.
The reason they arent showing any gameplay is because they havnt really updated the graphics in any fundamental way, It will look pretty much like it did when it came out back in the late 90's....
If you do not want to pick up this game then you have no right to say you are an RPG fan of any type. This game is what set the standard for PC RPG gaming. Not only are they enhancing BG and BG2, but if they sell well enough they will be enhancing Icewind Dale 1 and 2 and Planescape Torment. The best part of all is if these all do well enough they will be making a sequel to Planescape. Please people support this game. It's only $20. I want the damn sequel!
@daedstarr I played Planescape Torment when it got to the %5 bin and I have to say I liked it the best. Can't believe I missed it on release. A lot of people complained there was no resurrection and I never saw it in a walkthrough, however, you can pick it up in the building you start in at the beginning of the game, at least if you were a mage...Made the game much easier as a companion could die in battle. Being a fighter is better late game, but there is basically 1 weapon per "stage" of the game. If you miss it, you will suck until the next one pops up.
So wow! They made a bunch of what looks like cave drawings, then finally drew a Baldur's Gate logo... that's impressive! /sarcasm
How about showing us a "teaser" video that actually shows something that's been done?!? I really don't get why half of these videos have just a bunch of computer animation, and nothing of the game they are trying to promote.
Pretty pathetic those bashing the console versions. I played the pc versions over and over and the Dark alliance sequels on PS2 were worthy sequels. This childish console is better than pc or vice versa is so old. There are great games on both.
@RavenXavier Dragon Age was a great modern day update to this style of game. It was so bad ass. DA2 dumbed it down, but I liked the increase in action. Having to play in the same area 3 times over (different time frame same area) got boring. I got to the 3rd age and quit. Cant believe they got lazy with level design.
@Act_Chill @RavenXavier Let us never mention Dragon Age 2 and Baldur's Gate 1 or 2 in the same paragraph again. DA2 is garbage and has no redeaming qualities. Not one. DAO was alright but the steady decrease in complexity and the number of NPCs was already showing.
Dragon Age didn't come close to Baldur's gate as far as creativity goes. It was a good game, but if they completely remade the BG series with todays potential, and did it well, it would be the best RPG ever made. Hell, BG is stil the best, it's just outdated.

Are they planing on releasing both games enhanced, or only the first one? Because I'm pretty sure it was only the first one, then they will enhance 2 later. So if that is the case, why on earth is this trailer put in to BG1 main page? Oo
There really needs to be a Baldur's Gate 3. Why rehash a game that's over 10 years old, unless you are going to really overhaul it and add new quests, characters, graphics, etc.?
I was really hoping they would remake the game EXACTLY as it was, except for improved graphics. I enjoyed the originals, but every time I try to go back and play them, I just can't overlook that and end up giving up.
@the_hunger marketing does this in order to reintroduce the franchise and generate awareness within the current generations of gamers who might not know what this game is about.
Usually, these types of moves are done in order to gauge the viability of a sequel, so by all means people, lets support this edition.
@Landar They already have my money and they will keep getting it till they are satisfied enough to make Baldur's Gate 3 from a vivid dream, that it has been for all these years, to a Core Reality. BioWare isn't going to touch this franchise ever again (not that they are in any shape of realizing such an ambition anwy) so in Overhaul Games we trust.
@depman1972 Troll? This was never released on the ps2, that was baldur's gate dark alliance. This game would never work with a gamepad. Also I'm pretty sure you could run this game on basically any computer at this point, you don't need thousands of dollars.
