Captain Marvel is now in theaters, and it's a major release. It's both Marvel's first female-led superhero movie and the final film before Avengers: Endgame ties together 10-plus years of MCU movies. As a result of all that, it maybe shouldn't come as a surprise that its first weekend saw it enjoy huge box office results, beating out most of Marvel's previous movies and setting new records. It's already surpassed $500 million worldwide.
Captain Marvel serves as our introduction to perhaps the most powerful Marvel superhero we've seen so far, as well as the Skrulls, Kree, and Goose the cat. Now that we've seen the movie, we decided to sit down and chat about everything in it--you can watch this in the video above, but you should obviously beware if you've yet to watch it and want to avoid spoilers.
We talk about our general impression of the movie--you can also see our Captain Marvel review for more of that--but dive deep into many areas of the film. That includes the surprising twist with the Skrulls, our thoughts on Goose and the other members of the cast, and the end credits scenes. There's a lot to talk about, what with so many new elements being introduced and this movie trying to serve as an origin story for both Carol Danvers and Nick Fury. We finally find out what happened to the latter's eye to necessitate an eyepatch, learn the origin of the Avengers name, and all sorts of other fun things. Beyond that, there are important developments regarding the future of the MCU to consider.
