Oh yeah, just so anyone knows, there is a Scooter-lookalike (Scooter of Borderlands) in the game. ;D

I am currently playing the computer version. The game's a flawed gem.

For one, the overarching story and storyboard is epic and romantic - I feel so good simply reading the synopsis. But the scene-by-scene play-out? It's campy-ass shit, and the English adaptation is atrocious. For example, very early on in the game, the English voice-over for Alicia makes a bad-cop remark about her being the "one holding the gun" when she met Welkin for the first time, even though the Japanese voice-overs do not have that remark.

The gameplay is very sophisticated, for what started out as a PS3 2008 game. Unfortunately, the game has a crapload of balance issues that was never solved, even half a decade later. For example, the player's tanks are next to worthless for A-rank/S-rank performances because they cost too many CPs to use and they are just not mobile enough.

@Gelugon_baat: Dubs have to adapt the original lines, the japanese line probably didn't make sense if translated literally. And you make your own challenges, no one forces you to use the tanks.

@GameYakuza: I don't believe that translations are the issue. It's just poor writing on the localization team's part.

Also, I have never implied that the player is being forced to use the tanks. Please don't put words that I did not say into my mouth.

What I wanted to say is that the tanks were touted as one of the prominent features of the games - they just turn out to be next to tactically worthless.

@Gelugon_baat: it becomes very useful once you get the hang of how to use its upgrades.

@Kruiz_Bathory: I already have the late-game upgrades for the tanks - they are still worthless. Like I said, they lack mobility - also, there are no upgrades which improve their mobility.

In fact, if there was any reason for me to use the tanks, it would be the Edelweiss's smoke rounds.

Maybe they would be useful if there are plenty of targets for the tanks to whack right from the first turn - but this is rarely the case.

I'd buy it if I hadn't recently picked up a copy on Steam. I think it's cool this is getting another shot at exposure

Now that UC4 is coming out on May, this will be totally crushed and forgotten in the infinite space of hell. I'm very sad.

@Kruiz_Bathory: It took a while for me, a non-Playstation consumer, to figure out that you are referring to Uncharted 4.

Also, yeah, bad timing for its release in the Western market. The Steam version was better timed though - hopefully the second game would be on Steam.

@Gelugon_baat: oh I have that version too, I haven't played it much since it bothered me that the cutscenes weren't upscaled at all. And you mean the PSP game? It was amazing but it did poorly on sales(like the first one) and hence we never saw the 3rd one on the west.

@Kruiz_Bathory: I know the bits about the sales performance; I did do research on the series.

Like I said, it was bad timing - including for the first game when it came out in the West in 2008. It was released in the month of November of that year - and that year had lots of anticipated titles being released in November, e.g. Resistance 2.

@Kruiz_Bathory: Yeah, very sad such a quality game won't get the attention it deserves. Also sad that the next VC game plays like FF12. Just don't get different games like this anymore.

@Kruiz_Bathory: Hadn't thought of that, but the worldwide market for a game like this probably small regardless.
