Yes please! So relieved there are going back to boots on the ground, I'm not getting any younger and I'm fed up with little kids jumping around in recent COD games as my reaction speed isn't the best!

Message to WWII developers - please don't mess this up! No doubt we will have to wait 10 more years for another game to go back to basics - so please get it right!! Thank you.

I want a return to WWII but not with Activision and COD as I just don't care for the series. I'd love to see the Brothers in Arms story arc be completed, and I'm hoping Dice will go back to WWII in Oct/Nov of 2018.

It would be a massive gamble but it would be amazing if Dice did the Korean war. They took a punt with BF1 and it seems to have worked, I can't see why Korea couldn't be a success although it's a touchy topic right now.

Vietnam would also be good. As long as the gameplay is as fun as BFBC2 I'll be happy with what ever the next BF installment is.

UMMMMM, Yes. We have been playing modern warfare for years now. It's time for a great remake of Call of Duty 2. When xbox360 released Call of Duty 2 never left my console. Now that I'm into computer gaming I'm really ready for a great WWII game. Please don't mess this up!

Yes most definitely. It's already a huge success with the likes on their reveal video on youtube. This future COD stuff is played out and quite honestly silly. Time to reset the trend and get back to you know it! BOOTS ON GROUND.

Hell yes. WW2 shooters are the bomb. Why do you think the origin CoD's were so popular? Going back to their roots is the best decision they could have made, especially following BF1's success.

I thought Brothers in Arms executed an emotional story really well, and it wasn't as mindless; underrated imo. RTH30 and EIB also had fantastic multiplayer. They're my favorite series of ww2 games. Still waiting on the next installment.

I hope for the best for Cod ww2 though, I grew up with moh and cod. Been wanting them to go back to this era for quite some time.

@filthy_casual_: Great analogy. WW2 has quite a few campaigns, which were rarely showed to mass audience.

It will still sell well because it's call of duty. If it's fun people will want to play it. About the only fps game people seem to not care about updates is Count Strike. Otherwise it's nice to get a fresh coat of paint on games as the hardware advances.

I never got tired of WW2 shooters myself but on the other hand I am very tired of modern shooters. But what I would really love is some form of melee focused CoD type game with a great cinematic story campaign. First person sword fighting and grand battles. To take part in siege battles and stuff like that from the first person perspective would be cool. There are many first person games like that but they are all either RPGs or MP focused games and not these highly cinematic fps campaigns that so many shooters are famous for.

@dancegdance: Exactly. Sledgehammer games was brought on with a new Vietnam based COD that was planned as a third person perspective. They would be great for it with all the previous work they did.

Don't know if I wanted a WW2 game but I can tell you I don't want another future solder, wall running, super jumping, laser rifle blah blah blah. On the other hand if call of duty doesn't reinvent the game mechanics from the last 4 years of call of duties this game has no shot regardless of era.

Not meant as sexist, but did she say women are playable characters in multiplayer for a WW2 game? That seems strange considering the setting this takes place in...

@HOLYSHMUCK: Women fought in WW2. Maybe no infantry in the U.S. Army, but they still fought. They were in the Russian Army. You know, the Army that won the war. Yep, A sexist you be, you see what you want. 3rd grade history lesson over.

@usaoligarchy: But running around in multiplayer as a chick in an American, British, or even Nazi uniform doesn't seem very acknowledging of the era. Women fought in different parts of the war, obviously, but they served traditional roles of the time helping mostly behind the scenes in factories and such. You can't sit here and say it would be doing the era justice by having American, British, and Nazi women in traditional WW2 uniforms. It actually seems like a damning of history. And I'm a girl so piss off about sexism lol

@usaoligarchy: you mean 3rd grade russian propoganda lesson? Women SERVED in the army, but they did not fight at all, mostly medics and desk jobs.

@xcrimsonxsynx: most of them weren't frontline fighters, not until probably the end.

Most women in WW2 that served where snipers, medics, drivers, assassins(many), spies, pilots and even boot camp instructors.

Let's not forget the most important roles they served in, factory workers.

They kept the war machine going building vehicles, weapons and ammo.

Women rarely fought on the frontlines or "in the trenchs". They were very cloak and dagger.

Although that doesn't mean there roles weren't important, without them the war might have gone on longer or even been lost.

@Raidendude153: Better question: Who cares? If you don't like it don't play it. If these games no longer interest you, why waste time and energy asking dumb questions that usually end in pointless insults and fanboyism.

@7tizz: The WWE and Nascar have millions of fans. Just because something has widespread patrons doesn't mean it's free from criticism, in fact it's the opposite.

I'd wager critical thinking isn't a forte of these aforementioned "millions of fans."

@7tizz: If you want to look at numbers, COD sales have been deteriorating for the last 4 years, with IW being one of the worst selling COD games ever. It may still sell in the millions, but its fan base is nowhere near as healthy as it once was.

Hi just ordered COD: Infinite Warfare after finishing my games backlog. Already played all WWII COD past shooters so I'm good.

Liked COD: MW1-3, BO, BO2, AW, BO3. Even played BF1 so IW is my next logical step. Don't need or want historical COD, or any other historical war shooters. Sequels to past COD's remain untapped (especially AW).

Activision's reacting to BF1 sales & will hurt them in the long term. With this approach when all is said & done where will they keep going next? COD: Civil War? COD: Liberation USA 1886? COD: Indian Wars? COD: Stone Age Primal (that's on you, Ubisoft)?

A COD: WW1 won't fly because EA's already did it & Activision hates competition without the edge.

@cyruz_vyruz: Like you said, they react to sales. We've had 5 futuristic Cod games, (Ghosts, Black ops 2, Black ops 3, Advanced Warfare, and Infinite Warfare,) so they are reacting to the fact most people are sick of the pewpew laser and 'what-if' future scenarios. Alot of people want a few future Cods to be more like the originals in terms of setting. That doesn't mean we won't have more future pewpew Cods in the future, it just means that Activision is going to make each release's setting based off of sales and trends, and will switch up the yearly settings depending on trending fan interests. But don't worry, we probably won't get a Civil War Cod. That would be goofy in Cod form. I would expect that type of game to play more like a historical battle simulator w/ survival and tactician gameplay elements moreso than a Rambo run-n-gun Cod game.

Of course we do well i do after battlefield 1 and cod whole thing is copying what another shooter did the previous year (see when advanced warfare was announced with the bunny hop ala titanfall so since they cant do ww1 they have to do 2 and watching the trailer if anyone thinks they are going for something that isnt EXACTLY like bf1 your just wrong

I want it. Don't see why everyone is so ADD with everything these days and need constant variety all the time. I'm perfectly happy with more WW2 shooters as long as it's EXECUTED right. Constant variety is overrated.
