E3 On The Front Line - Games for Xbox One vs. PS4

@isaiah247 Who are the guys bringing consoles? Theres usually a 360 or two or a ps3 on a base yeah, but I didnt know anyone personally owned it since its always on commonground. I thought only young sailors or nco's were the only ones bringing their personal console.. Most guys with a family waiting for them back home and that got important stuff to do rather not get theirs heads into a game at the end of an exhausting day, thats why I thought its only navy caring about that.. usually only hd tv is on commonground/recreationhall right?

@Acekidder , both games will better at PS4 though , since u don't internet connection to play single player.

@adamg78 I doubt anyone will buy XB1 that doesn't have Internet. Even a slow DSL line would suffice. It's interesting that PS4 is going to a more XBox Live style approach (pay for multiplayer, cross-game chat, real world friends) it will hopefully balance the playing field a little but I have both PS3 and XBox 360 and XBox Live is far and away a better online experience in everything I've played. PS3 online is a mixed bag and Sony needs to fix it. Not only the multiplayer but downloading and installing games, demos and patches is painful on PS3 compared to 360 (where patches happen automatically and take about 5-10 seconds vs. several minutes on PS3 for comparable patches). Hopefully PS4 will auto-patch, play demos with one click (browse to a demo and just click "Play" instead of "Play Demo", "Download In Background", "Install", then click the icon to launch). Sony can definitely do better than they did with PS3. I think they're learning from Microsoft both good (XBox Live) and bad (no game rentals).

I'm kind of intrigued by the cloud-based game library on XB1. I hate physical disks once I've bought them. I love (on both XBox360 and PS3) digital versions of games since I don't have to worry about a disk getting scratched, lost, etc. and I have multiple 360s so it would be nice to not have to make sure the right disk is in the right room. That's especially intriguing if I'm over at my brother's house or out of town and want to play or show off some cool new game I got. Log in, and play the game. No disk required. Maybe we're all being a little too hard on MS the same way everyone was on Apple when the App Store came out with the EXACT SAME MODEL.

@adamg78 So you think that the packaging and people who sell the Xbox One will try to hide the fact, so they get upset customers who return their stuff?

@hordaak I actually prefer sony's controller over the xbox one. Also, all those amazing games are third party games you are talking about. How long do you think that will last for? not very long. Btw which first party games are coming out at launch for xbox? killer instinct? Idk what else. It does seem like the rumor may be true that their games were behind schedule since they have alot of third party exclusives. I am impressed with rise and titanfall, I think they look amazing, but like I said before those third party exclusives will not last forever especially if not many consoles get sold. Oh and you are right, games do matter, we have seen many of the 15 exclusives they now have, sony has 20 exclusives coming out the first year, and I think we may have seen maybe like 6? With 11 new IPs. So there is still many more titles that will be announced.

@hordaak Just saying PS4 has no restrictions on used games, the controller is not that bad, and AMAZING exclusive like killzone, INFAMOUS, God Of War. Also i am not a fanboy, i currently own both Xbox 360 and Ps3 and i love both because of the specific titles, and just one more things the Xbox One is not that badass, just look at all of the restrictions. What if you live in an area with bad internet, what if you cannot afford always buying new games?

@hordaak You do realize Titanfall is on PC as well? with none of the downsides of the XB1. Controller is a huge opinion thing, and honestly not that big of an issue. At worst, there is third party controllers. Of course if controls were smarter they'd support ANY controller like the PC does and it would be a non-issue. For games. for REAL exclusives, Microsoft has Halo..nothing new there. And it wasn't even a real trailer. Forza? At least they showed gameplay but it's more of the same as well. Killer Instinct is a terrible disgrace to the franchise. A free to play game with only 1 character unless you buy each of the others, and combat ripped straight from Street Fighter 4. Quantam Break is from a Studio whose games always end up on PC anyway, and they didn't show anything, and the idea behind it screams disaster. RYSE looks great, I'm a Crytek fanboy despite how they noobified the Crysis series when they ported it to consoles with worse graphics and worse multiplayer. However, the quick-time events in combat ruin the whole thing. I'll stick to Total War: Rome II for my fix. Sunset Overdrive was a pre-rendered trailer that told us absolutely nothing. They might as well never showed it since it will be at least a full year before it releases due to the fact the trailer is all they have to show. And with that, I named every single XBOX ONE exclusive title. All the rest are either also on PC where they will be better, or are also on PS4 or current gen consoles.

You are correct, the most important features are the games...however Microsoft's approach is going AWAY from games. They reserve almost half of their (weaker than PS4) RAM for the OS itself so it can do all those non-gaming things like spying on you so your dashboard ads will show you where to buy clean underwear. The GPU is also 17% weaker than PS4. This gives PS4 a huge advantage in the potential in what developers can do with it.

@hordaak what matters is the availability of games and XboxOne screwed the pooch on that one. I have a 360 and love it, but xbox is shooting their selves in the foot trying to destroy the used game market. Then what if your internet is down you can't even play games offline, that's stupid.

@crash1515 I don't see where the other comment got his answer but it is not confirmed yet. Just because it was shown by Playstation does not mean it is an exclusive. Many games they showed were not.
