For Primusamurai: Sean Bean starred (stars?) in a British mini series where he plays Lt. Richard Sharpe. They all have different titles, but they begin with Sharpe's "whatever." Good stuff.
There has been a game in the past that did this pretty well called Imperial Glory, with the same concepts in sea battles too; but here's to hoping TW do it better.
Actually, Kanelives2, the Sharpe series isn't really biased towards the English, a huge number of the villains are english and the ones that aren't villains are mostly poncey and stupid. Also I thought part of the fun of the Total War games was zooming in on the action to see individual men battle each other, which was why Rome was so impressive. I will agree on the part of the AI though, it's generally pretty dumbtarded, doesn't bother me though, just makes me feel smart. Really looking forward to this game I've been hoping they would use this period since Barbarian Invasion.
WELL, THAT was a waste of money! YES, be sure to motion capture movement that no player will ever zoom enough to see... Also use that proenglish Sharp series to get a really accurate feel of the period. I hope at least SOME money went into making the ai ALLOT smarter.
