Evolve looks fun but i don't have enough friends to play it so it will be a GOTY pickup for me.

I think the Escapists looks like fun! I saw that they were characters you could play as in that soccer game you can get for free on XBL Gold right now, but I wasn't really sure what they were from. I'm not sure if anyone has ever done a game based around prison escapes.

@Ovirew: Why would anyone want to play a game that looks like it was released 30 years ago? There's so many good games with great graphics out there. So many that who even can find the time to play them all? Yet people are playing games that look like they were ported from an 8-bit console.

@smooth_face225: Good graphics and solid gameplay is what makes a game good. If you like games like The Escapist, you should download an Atari2600 emulator. Tons of games on the Atari, and they're all FREE. Who cares about graphics; gameplay is more important!

I never understood the appeal of Monster Hunter. I tried multiple demos and it seemed kind of boring and repetitive. Maybe I'm missing something. Are you only just trying to find monsters and slay them? I only played single player mode and am more partial to playing games alone. Maybe that's the kicker.

@SpiderLuke: i love the franchise then again its opinion and not for everyone monster hunter=pokemon but more for an older crowd etc etc gotta collect em all well for those collection fanatics and crafting fanatics and those that like having a dictionary/list of dinosaurs and monsters killed and like real life hunting using parts of the animals/creatures to create/craft new items n gear to turn around and kill more challenging creatures n monsters yes repetitive and no no leveling system like in most standardized rpgs so its a genre within a genre thats really only for a select group of dedicated players ..one of the things people like about monster hunter is how when you defeat an animal or monster or several of any variation it really was because you had the skill and proper timing and understood the creatures behaviors n patterns [cause each creature type has its own attacks movements etc] very little luck involved in killing anything in this franchise and with random attacks n random patterns of some of the creatures plus the rarity of just SEEING some of the species is in itself an appeal to some gamers literally the title of the game is as self explanatory as can be lol but its not for everyone like drinking coffee was for me ie an acquired taste something i wasnt immediately into was the same for playing this franchise all the burnout gamers i worked nightshift with at work played n talked this franchise religiously for years on their psps n now 3ds's i got into the series on my wii w/ the monster hunter tri/3g installment but after MANY hrs it became an almost obsessive drive to continue on/progress but it didnt start that way and im not like that with every game i play but something about MH franchise that has an almost mmorpg feel when it comes to replay value n many hrs invested but again its not like this for everyone. lol hope this giant run-on sentence helps

@SpiderLuke: Yeah, pretty much thats the point of the game. You get these monsters that you defeat in order. Defeating the monsters gives you items that can be crafted into gear and help on the next Bosses. The crafting always made it special as the animal parts turned into kinda realistic gear parts.

The combat is almost total control, lots of moving and strategy can be used. like cutting off tails or weakening legs. Also the hunting part is fun, the game has tracking and trapping that can be used. Not only that, its very innovative, you wont find games like it. It reinvented partying up with people from the traditional way.

Story is usually pretty cool also. Single player mode is not bad, but its actually suppose to serve as a tutorial into the game. You finish single player defeat a few bosses and then your ready to team up and face harder foes. This new game will feature 75 Large monsters which will be the biggest ever the game has released.

@SpiderLuke: I played a demo of one of them, and I thought the controls were kind of awful. I also had a hard time understanding why they are so acclaimed when it seemed kind of mediocre. But, Idk, that was my only experience with Monster Hunter so far.
