It seems like there are a dozen new Fortnite stories every day, especially with how many updates they put out. Well, the latest patch is now live, and we've got all the details for you. These include the return of 50v50, in which players will now find more loot and resources than the last time the mode was present. And if you're lucky, you'll find the new Light Machine Gun, which packs a 100-round mag with a five-second reload time.
Fortnite: Battle Royale also features double XP from now through Sunday, April 22. And you won't have to worry as much about shooting your own structures while peeking as the recent changes to the mechanic have been rolled back. Oh, and if you play the Save The World mode, you've got the new Mercury LMG and a mission that you can complete to unlock a new cyberpunk hero. Speaking of battle royale, PUBG is gearing up for some map-related changes. The Codename: Savage map, which is currently in testing in the Experimental Test Server, has had a new area concept revealed. Players can expect a giant hole that leads to an underground cave system at some point in the future. Additionally, PUBG Corp has revealed that map selection is coming to the regular Test Server, before making its way to the full game "soon."
In non-battle royale related news, a new Sega survey asks users what their interest in the Fist of the North Star game from Yakuza 6 developer Ryū ga Gotoku Studio is. While this doesn't confirm a localization, it is exciting that Sega is gauging player interest. If you don't know what Fist of the North Star is, it's easily described as Mad Max meets martial arts. The game, Hokuto ga Gotoku, was released on PS4 in Japan on March 8 and features gameplay very similar to the Yakuza games. You can even play as a familiar face. Development on Halo: The Master Chief Collection is underway, and in addition to an update that plans to add Xbox One X enhancements and some major fixes, developer 343 Industries has revealed that it's testing bringing Halo: Custom Edition maps to the game. Halo: Custom Edition is an unofficial add-on that released in 2004 and is still live today. It allows players to make custom maps for the PC version of Halo: Combat Evolved.
We also talk about the success of Hellblade on Xbox One, which helped lead to developer Ninja Theory donating $25,000 to Mental Health America, and a new 24-inch Nioh statue that has one heck of a price tag: $1,000.
