Game Of Thrones: Official "Aftermath" Season 8 Teaser Trailer

Winterfell is looking worse for wear in this Game of Thrones Season 8 teaser, 'Aftermath.' Does this hold clues for the upcoming final series?

There are only two more episodes until Game of Thrones Season 8, and the show in its entirety, is over. Speculating about where things are going has been the name of the game since the very beginning, and with the end in sight, that hasn't changed, as fans are looking for clues as to what's still to come. One place to look is in old episodes and promotional materials. There was one particularly striking teaser trailer released before this season, the "Aftermath" one you see above, that seemed to bode poorly for our favorite characters. As you can see above, The Battle of Winterfell was looking as if it might not turn out well for the living.

With Episode 3's big battle over, we know how those particular events transpired, and it seems this was just a misdirect, as few characters of note actually met their end. But could there still be something to read into its images? It harkens back somewhat to the Season 2 vision that Dany experiences in the House of the Undying where she sees--among other things--snow falling into a destroyed version of the throne room at King's Landing. Does that suggest that disaster is imminent, or was this--like the trailer above--something that will never come up again?

For more, check out our fresh theories after seeing Episode 4. These explore the idea that the Iron Throne will be destroyed, as well as the idea that Dany is headed the Mad Queen route. We also talk about the possibility of Jaime not heading to King's Landing for the reasons he suggested--don't forget about the Valonqar prophecy involving Cersei. She's long held the belief that Tyrion would murder her, but she might have mistakenly suspected the wrong brother all along. We'll know for sure in the next week or so.

We also have an Episode 5 preview trailer to provide us with some further sense of where things are going--and it's looking increasingly likely that Cleganebowl is a lock for one of the next two episodes. Additionally, HBO has shared Episode 5 photos to provide some additional teases.
