GS News - New Mass Effect game & PS4 controller detects sweat?!

So the ps4 joystick is not just a blue flash light, it is also some sort of nasty polygraph? What is that for anyway, it is for horror games or... investigative ones? All right besides the questionable usage of such thing, please Bioware just don't screw this up blowing a beloved ship up just to give the newcomers a sense of ''new''. The devs should stop hearing the bachelor's gamer feedback too... just saying. Nah just kidding, this is good for their business, keep doing it.

so, nothing original coming out of Ubisoft...... gaming is just on the downhill. new consoles looking like great graphics, but with tired old games.

Actually looking forward to a new Mass Effect ... I know it gets alot of hate because of ME3 ending. But really it is what it is. Personally I can still enjoy the ending along with the whole trilogy. Maybe thats because I didn't play any of them until the Mass Effect trilogy pack came out on ps3 ( hate starting games that have a focus on storyline without playing the originals ) .. so wasn't all psyched up for ME3 . Heard of the ending of the trilogy had alot of negative feedback before I even started playing the trilogy.. so I knew it wasn't going to be mind-blowing . But coming from an rpg/storytelling gaming background ( going back to the original Fallout games and Baldurs Gate saga) .. I still managed to enjoy the ending.

Anyways back on point. A new game in the ME universe cant be a bit thing. Look forward to hearing more about it .

@tempertress Jess, fantastic work. You delivery has just the right amount of enthusiasm and attitude without going overboard. GS has cycled through a lot of daily news segments over the years featuring different people, but yours in my opinion is the best. As for the dude talking school girl uniforms and pigtails, he might need professional help. Great job and continue being yourself!

There was a time, long ago, when I really liked Ubisoft. We've grown apart.

i reeeeally would like to know how many kickass, game of the year, super mario-, final fantasy 7-, halo-esq visionary games have been sent to the incinerator by ubisoft because they "couldn't make a franchise out of it?" are these companies losing touch with the fact that they're making video games and wanting to make it to the highest tower in wall street? metaphorically speaking.

I can't wait for the MGS5 sequence where you've gotta sweat out the poison or something. Dating Sim boss battle where you put the boss off by sweating? Electric attacks that are more dangerous if the player is sweaty? Go Kojima, go!

That stuff about the ps4 controller was rather out of context. IIRC, Sony devised a bunch of concepts for new controllers with anything they could think of then pitched them to other parts of the team to see if it was usable in any way for games. The sweat thing was obviously stupid and pointless and it never saw the light of day. We will not be seeing that "feature".

Well that new PS4 game controller idea is good for me, finally someone figured out a way to stop me wiping my hands and dying on Battlefield in the process.

PS4 gamepad knows when you're excited/horny. :P

Dropping another thought here, since I've remembered start/select. I loved that show because show because it summed up the daily news (which came in handy when since I have to get some work done and can't be at gamespot all day long) and delivered a healthy dose of sarcasm/irony/puns and the like.

GS News wasn't like that in the beggining so I did not watch with the same enthusiasm, now I do, so keep up the good work folks, and as John Green says in his crashcourse videos, don't forget to be awesome. ;)

Anyways, Haven't played Mass Effect yet because once I learned of it's existence they were releasing ME2 on the PS3 and I didn't want to play it without playing #1, now I skip it because one does not simply make time to play 3 rpgs in succession, give me a call when ME4 (or whatever it is called since 4 is unlikely) comes out.

Thankfully that stupid feature was not implemented in DS4, I can't think of one real gameplay scenario where that would be useful. Just give me a good controller with the classic inputs and I'm happy.

I can't blame Ubisoft for the Franchise stance. I wish it weren't so BUT not only is it good business, if it isn't strong enough to create a franchise then are you sure it's a strong enough game to sell? Not necessarily a bad meter stick.
