You can google a wiki page all you want, like anybody else, if you can't believe that final fantasy 11, which launched initially on pc in jp, then pc global, then ps2 globally (which also had network adaptors, hdd, mouse/kb support..) and from that moment on ps and pc would play together. The game even lasted until ps3, and years later the xbox 360 finally got a version it could play. Guess what happened then? Ps2, ps3, pc and xb360 all played the same game on the same servers, in the same raid groups and all....

It was just the beginning, more games followed that would do such, but generally it was a sony title. If the game was multiplat to include xbox then under msft policies and legal contract those games had to be ran on separate networks.

No go on, run off and google ff11, though I must warn you, it will pop most of your fanboy bubbles to find out yyet again that msft wasn't the innovator in anything....
