so they stole over 100 million dollars worth of intellectual property, but in actuality they probably didn't make that much profit off of it at all, not even close. so why report that number then? stealing intellectual property is not the same as stealing physical property, unless that intellectual property is then used to make a profit. so the way i see it, they only stole around 20 grand of "intellectual property" since that's all they profited from it. idk lol

I don't understand, console manufacturers lose money for each console they produce, so what is the motivation to build counterfeit ones using much the same parts?

I have to hand it to them. That's some tenacious hacking and audacious theft, but it's because of people like this that we lock our doors and encrypt our files.
