Great games, and the touch screen seems useful. But you know what? WE WANT NEW GAMES for the vita!!!!!!!! We're tired of paying the same games over and over again, even if they're awesome.
@NeutralFan That is true. And I say yeah. But would it pack as much market appeal for the powers in charge, being a Vita title? I guess in some ways it should. Just one of those things that I wonder about since I am among those people who really appreciate the Vita as a premium console experience without being tethered to a television or even a specific spot.
@NeutralFan That's mighty cool of you. Lol.You're right: they have released it on the PS3. I say, give us most of the simpler PS3 titles on the Vita. I'd even be happy to play Deus Ex Human Revolution all over again on the Vita. They could start with that and then consider reworking the first game.
@KadeStorm To be honest I'm not sure that it really could be justified from a development point of view: it's an old game appealing to a niche audience. On the other hand, Square Enix have already released it on PSN for PS3, so I guess it wouldn't take a lot of effort to port it over and throw a Vita version out. Extra brownie points if they somehow incorporate the Deus Ex HDTP or their own graphical overhaul, though I guess this wouldn't matter so much on the smaller screen of the Vita.
Hell, I'll ask them how many virtual copies they would have to sell to justify porting it and promise to cover that myself if that would make this happen.
That touch screen is going to be useful. I can't remember how many times I accidentally got in front of a camera/enemy because I jarred the analog stick the wrong way.
I know that the Peace walker and portable ops are already available on the market, but i would like to see a big bundle offering all 4 games into one packet!
I really miss snake eater, best game in the series imo
@davet666 It'll never see the light of day unless Konami re-makes it completely (like they did for gamecube but we all know that the Twin Snakes left a lot to be desired outside of the graphical update).
It's about as big of a pipe dream as Konami updating Metal Gear 1 and 2 to modern gameplay/graphical standards. But we can all keep dreaming about it. ;)
Who knows? Maybe if the fans pitched it as a Kickstarter project to Konami, the dream could become a reality!
Kojima has said that he isn't willling to re-release MGS1 unless it is a complete remake rather than simply a graphical re-hash.
Personally, I think a remake of MGS1 that played and looked like MGS4 would be awesome, but I would rather have the remakes you mentioned, Metal Gear 1 & 2.
That hope might not actually be too far away; We've already seen MGS5 material showing Big Boss and there isn't that much of a gap between Peace Walker and Outer Heaven. The setting is also rumoured to be in Africa, which ties in with the Metal Gear 1 theory. I don't know if MGS5 will be a remake (in fact I think it will probably be based around the founding of Outer Heaven), but it looks like Kojima is gearing up to do it at some point. Would would be really cool would be playing as Snake in the gap between MG2 and MGS1; i.e as a raving drunk.
As for petitioning, Dark Souls is finally coming to PC, so here's hoping Kojima can be persuaded too.
Looking great, can't wait to revisit some of my favorite PS2 memories, particularly MGS3. The absolute only thing I would have liked to see was the crouch-walk from the 3DS version make the transition.
I don't think they probably need to change the promo slogan, but at the same time I'm sure more than half know dam well how to hold their snake in their hands. lol.
Let's just hope the game doesen't come with accelerometer support, otherwise Gamespot's next headline will be "Hold Snake in your hands! Shake vigorously for fun!"
June is packed with games but maybe sony should have spread them out a bit in June theres MGS collection, Gravity Rush, and Resistance Burning skies then nothing else for months until Silent Hill in october..
This version is going to tank. If it had the same content as the PS3 version (i.e. Peace Walker as well) and if it was released at the same time, it might have had a chance, but the fact is that most of us who wanted this collection will already have the superior PS3 version and there's very little incentive to buy this.
Touchscreen zooming is not exactly something I consider a critical feature.
