Is It Finally Time To Buy An Xbox One? - Gamescom

Danny and Shaun, this is a f.......ing retarded a....s video (and I'm not referring to the way you're dressed). Do you really need to persuade / convince a "gamer" that an Xbox One is worth buying?!?! With a $100 price drop, and multiple exclusives announced way back at E3, any real "gamer" should already know that it's a very good investment. If they don't know, then they're frigging retards and no amount of talking is going to "convince them" to buy one!!! You would be wasting your breath trying to persuade them.

myXbox one is my favorite and most used console so far this generation. Definitely a worthy purchase. It really adds a level of convenience not found on the other systems. The graphics are fantastic despite all the resolution hoopla on the net. There is honestly no significant difference in the graphics at this point (excluding wii u from now on because it is a different breed of console imo). Both systems (ps4 and xb1) have a lot of fun games now so for those of you still on last gen I think this year would be a great time to jump in. I give the nod to Xbox one for having more fun games so far (titanfall is a major player imo). I would also recommend getting ea access because it is a great deal! I hadn't played battlefield since titanfall came out so I sold it and Madden to gamestop for $40, got ea access, still get to play those games for a year (at least), get to play the other games that come to the vault and get the discount and early play access, and I made a profit in the deal. Overall I think both systems are pretty even in the games department. When it comes to other features (multimedia), I think the Xbox destroys in that department. My phone is going to die so I can't finish my thoughts on why it excels at everything outside of gaming. I'll just finish by saying this to Those of you who can only buy one console: The ps4 is a great console.it has a lot of fun gamesand is a quality piece of hardware. You will definitely enjoy your purchase.however I would recommend the Xbox one for most people. I think it is the best overall console based on its features outside of gaming (multimedia capabilities, online network, Kinect is great and also recommended, Skype, convenience, support). I welcome all replies, even though I'm sure some will be angry fanboys

I bought my X1 for , Ryse, Forza, Titanfall, DR3, Sunset Overdrive, , Halo, Quantum Break, D4 and a bunch more I want to play. I dont care what MSFT did or try to do I just love gaming an dont want to miss out on good games and I use my X1 everyday an loves it. Im going to buy a ps4 to also to play TLOUR, infamous SS, The show,The Order and probably a bunch more that I cant think of. I will hopefully love the ps4 also. I do this because I love gaming and if you can afford it and choose not to buy a console because of stupid hate or to be a fanboy than I feel bad for you if you are a gamer and is going to box yourself into a corner with one console and miss out on a bunch of awesome games and experiences than that sucks for you.

I'd have to say no, I mean, unless your into sports or COD/FPS games, this isn't the system for you. Lets face it, I loved Tomb Raider, and was highly upset when they announced the exclusive. I've calmed down now, but Tomb Raider is not a system seller, and since its timed... why not wait and get it for the better of the two systems. Sure, you can argue with me that Xbox is better. Numbers/facts/specs don't lie... get over it. Be happy with your purchase no matter what it is, but don't fall prey to this exclusive crap (especially timed)! If your into Halo, Forza, & Gears of War, get an Xbox. If your into anything else, get a PS4. I switch loyalties this gen, and haven't regretted it yet.

Also, its worth mentioning that if you are a Sony/Nintendo fantard then there is never going to be a "right" time to buy an X1.

I own an X1 and a PS4, for me it was time to buy an X1 when they announced Forza 5 ( thats just me though). I bought the PS4 a few months back second hand from EB Games for $100 off. Pretty happy with both, play the xbox more but I have had it longer. Currently waiting for my copy of TLOU to arrive, didnt buy it last gen as I had a sneaky suspicion it would get remastered.

No, Gamescom actually showed me how unoriginal both Sony and M$ have become. In fact, I'd be more closer in buying a Wii U instead.

The answer is still no. It will remain no as the company has not changed and obviously, the hardware hasn't either. ESRAM for video? Give me a break...it was clearly made with a focus on entertainment and not games.

I was surprised that Microsoft didn't reveal any new games at Gamescom. Sony had the expected re-reveal of Until Dawn, Tearaway Unfolded, Hellblade, and the best non-reveal for Silent Hills. Maybe Microsoft will bring some new game reveals to TGS like Sony's promised to do.

@sodapoppimpski Most games on the PS4 are labeled at 1080P, but only a portion of a game advertised as 1080P hits that resolution, with the rest coming in at lower resolutions and then up scaled. Just take the time to read developer interviews. It is a sales gimmick to sucker more people into buying their console that Sony developed. Just like the whole contrast ratio gimmick that suckered many people into buying TVs; when really the standard or basis line of contrast varied from maker to maker, making it a mute point.

I would respect your opinion more if you said I bought a PS4 because I really like Second Son or Killzone.

Unsurprisingly, typical gamers want to use the XB1 to play games, not watch exclusive TV shows. This news is only shocking to the previous XB1 management staff. The current staff knows this and has decided to "just deal with it" and focus on games.

November cannot get here soon enough. I will be putting many many many hours into Halo. 60fps dedicated servers, not as important but it's 1080p too, all multiplayer maps, eventual h5 beta access, and the list goes on and on... All I have been doing is watching the H2 multiplayer gameplay. Look too good... can't imagine what h5 will look like.

SE is a sinking shit boat anyways. FF15 was going to be the last straw, but this would be the end of them for me. If it is a timed exclusive it better not be for that long, maybe just 3 months.

This exclusive shit has really hit a whole new ugliness. Nobody could have really liked it normal exclusive bs in the first place. I been gaming on PC for the past years, so maybe this isn't the first time a SEQUEL was going to ignore the other platform it got released on.

They had to pay them A LOT to remove the game from a better system and one that is probably out selling it more then 2 to 1. And all that massive BS said from SE about it, it was really sad to hear them trying to justify to the majority of its fans with nothing but bs over bs.

Just from reading your response on why the ps4 ui is better just shows you've never used an X1 because it does all those things and better. Try using something before you knock it.
