Happy non-Birthday Dan!

As to the electric shock... you see Jess, Dan is a mutant, an inhuman, ... oh heck he's just different. So by revealing his birthday, he used a little of his powers to give you a little reminder to keep his secrets. Now that was dialed waay down. Don't upset him, lest... well just think of Star Wars and the Emperor using his electrical bolts. Yep, we talking "Dan is a high level character."

Psst, I hope you all brought him a little cake. Ya know, to stay on his good side...
