I really want to like this series but the first game didn't have option to configure the steering control. I found it hard to play racing sim with analog pad. I hope Slightly Mad can change that in this sequel. Learn from Criterion please.
@Sween750 I know it doesn't but sometimes when you make good publicity, good advertisements, or good trailers you sell better. All I said is that I love the trailer, and I think the game will be very good.
Never really agreed with the realistic take on NFS games and Shift was the prime example why. I did have fun with Pro Street but with Shift, ugh... The driving physics weren't arcadey to be fun and wasn't real enough to enjoy. I just found the physics to be a bad middle ground. Rather it went full sim like Forza or pure arcade like Burnout. Thank the heavens Criterion took over and made 2010 Hot Pursuit. I guess that was what NFS needed was a new team to get it right. Maybe EA should have gotten new guys to get the sim side of NFS right because IMO, EA Black Box haven't been keeping up the standard of Underground 2 or Most Wanted and newly acquired Slightly Mad Studios didn't really impress with the first Shift, either.
I loved shift, specially the sound effects. I think I will love this even more. Also, this trailer is one of the best teaser trailers I have ever seen.
Need for speed has been going down the drain lately, personnaly i believe it was 'undercover's fault. But this looks like it could bring the series back!
I was never a fan of arcade racers and therefore NFS never did anything for me.......until Shift came out! For me the success of a game is how much I enjoy playing it and boy, did I enjoy playing NFS Shift. So much so that I bought it for the Xbox 360 as well as I wanted to use the Xbox wheel to play it with. So I can't wait for NFS 2 to come out. Personally speaking, its so much better than Gran Tourismo 5 which (for me) has been a big let down. It's so boring! I really regret paying full price for it. Don't believe the hype, its not the "real" simulator; its a grinding snooze fest where cars bounce off barriers without a scratch (no, there is no damage modelling be it standard or premium car!). I actually fall asleep playing GT5.
Never played need for speed shift, only pro street, but I think they should include proper tuning options, like winding up the boost on turbo cars. And choosing what types of aftermarket parts you want ie. larger cam lobes for top end power, or different brands. Then the online modes would have more competition with every car a little bit different.
@k0k066 I'm not saying that games like carbon/most wanted/undergrounds/undercover are bad - played them, except undercover and they were great. Played shift and it was also great - different kind of game under one name. But you just cant call those games per "classic" nfs, cause the classic need for speeds were different than most wanted for example. Its Need For Speed, not Need for Storyline;]
@Maciej411 well how about carbon or most wanted?? I think that is what most people think that is nfs being a smart driver, running away from cops and taking your own offroad route, not just driving a car fastif I wanted just driving I would buy GT
@k0k066 You call underground and undercover the "classic" nfs? Those games were bastard children of Electronic Arts and The Fast and The Furious. The truest nfs, when it comes to the heritage right now is the new Hot Pursuit
Nice trailer! I have to be honest I think they're squeezing the life out of NFS now. But on that same note once you play a NFS game you realize why they keep making them. ;P
So, we know by watching this video that there will be night racing :D I cant wait!!! They better have double the amount of cars from shift 1. And also more upgrades, tuning and a dyno would be nice. Better menus and actual images of parts instead of just text.
the first shift was great, for shift 2 i need more variety (cars, tracks, gameplay), custom soundtrack option (which is something i think every racing game should have at this point), maybe better graphics, weather changes (rain, day-night tracks), some way that we can actually see the car we are choosing (i mean the menus are in the way), split-screen races (come on!) and make the drift more easy....
Well, in my opinion, previous NFS Shift is nice in graphic but horrible in driving sense. An old Skyline feels almost same as RX-8 in corner, with or without driving assist, and what makes it different is its speed. Hope EA fix it up this time.
looking forward to this! hope they can improve on the last game, that although good still has some more potential. (hope that the nightime in the trailer is a hint for what will be in the game)
