Valkyria Revolution isn't even listed in the Playstation store now. For a game being released this week you'd think it be there. Shame, because it would be an immediate purchase.

EDIT: So I just did a double check. Missed this. The game comes out in Japan this week. NOT North America. It won't hit our shores until Spring of this year. Thanks, Gamespot.

Valkyria Chronicles doesn't release yet - not in the US or EU or the west in general.

January 19th is the Japanese version release date.

I tried playing Gravity Rush 2 and I couldn't get the hang of the flight skills. I'm sure it would be cool if I could get that under control, but I just don't get it.

The Fate anime series is pretty awesome, IDK about games based on it....seems there'd be a few ways to do it justice but IDK, games based on anime/manga aren't usually the best......

i'm also a bit cautious on jumping on the SAO games and I'm a big fan of SAO.....

My family and friends all know that I've been out of the anime/manga Scene for literally more than a decade now, so I'm actually surprised that I still know a little something, heh. Anyway, at the risk of sounding like an otaku (relapsed?), here's a little clarification:

Actually, the Fate manga/anime series--except the alternative-universe spin-offs, of course--are all based on the original and critically-acclaimed visual novel Fate/stay night. I'm not exactly a big fan of that subgenre, so believe me when I say, it was really good. So technically speaking, the anime/manga series are all adaptations of a game, NOT the other way around. Sword Art Online on the other hand, despite its game premise AND its name, was originally based on a novel. Yes, a light novel as opposed to a visual novel.

Now that I'm done geeking out a bit, hah, let me just say that I do agree with you. Just because the original works were good, that doesn't automatically mean that these later adaptations will be. So here's hoping. :)
