New Splinter Cell In The Works… Please Be Real! | GameSpot News

In this episode of GameSpot News, we talk about Splinter Cell reportedly getting a new game soon, the Xbox Series X mini-fridge selling out fast, and Microsoft’s plans to buy more studios in the future.

In this video, DeVante talks about a report from VGC that Ubisoft is working on a new Splinter Cell game. The report shed no light on what type of game the new Splinter Cell might be, though it was described as being a "mainline" entry as opposed to some type of spin-off.

DeVante also talks about the Xbox Series X mini-fridge selling out fast as well as Phil Spencer revealing Microsoft is not done buying studios. Microsoft's last big gaming acquisition was ZeniMax/Bethesda, which it paid $7.5 billion to buy. Microsoft now has 23 game development studios spread across the world, working on a variety of projects.

Later in the video, he covers the latest games being added to Game Pass for the second half of October. Titles like: The Forgotten City, Outriders for PC, Backbone and Age of Empires IV.

Ubisoft had already announced quite a while back that they are making a VR Splinter Cell, my guess is that's what the new Splinter Cell is... just saying :)

Also at the same time Ubisoft said they are making an Assassins Creed VR.

@mongo1972: Even as a VR user I'd rather a full entry that isn't exclusive to VR. Stealth works great with some VR games like Espire (Which was hit or miss with some), but the traditional experience is what everyone wants.

@mongo1972: if that’s the case I’ll miss out.

@mongo1972: I hope it’s not just a VR game. This is the only Tom Clancy game they haven’t ruined yet. Probably because they haven’t done new projects with it.

Somebody tell Ubi to give health bars, RPG loot, and damage number systems a rest already.

@Tyler50314: I would say they would probably just make another watered down experience. While I enjoyed Blacklist it was still rather lacking as a stealth experience compared to previous entries, especially Chaos Theory. Would be killer to have a coop mode as good as that one.

@Smosh150: Agreed. Also I would like to see spies vs mercs again, I played a lot of Warehouse in PT and CT. I was a big fan of double agents single player as well.

I didn’t care for conviction, but enjoyed blacklist and played a good bit of co-op on it.
