@Tiwill44: How is Ditto and Blastoise anywhere near as iconic as Pikachu? I'd say Jigglypuff and Mewtwo aren't even that iconic...

But seriously... Anyone who hasn't played Pokemon would have no idea what Ditto is.

@Tiwill44: I know the name Charizard but I can't identify it. If I had to I'd guess the one that looks like a dragon, it came after Charmander which he got correct. When I saw the Charmander I thought that was Charizard.

I never played a Pokemon game until I got a 3DS and X free with it. I did enjoy it for several sessions over several weeks but then after that I never played it again. I never owned any of the Gameboy or prior DS systems.

Oh and I was already into my late teens when Pokemon came out.

@frank_castle: You do realize that knowing the names of even 5-10 pokemon is the equivalent of knowing the names of the ninja turtles, x-men or any other fictional character that was famous in your youth.

What's even more "sad" as you put it is knowing that the ninja turtles were actually just named after famous artists.

@frank_castle: Sad? It's one of the worlds biggest phenomenon's from the 90's. If you are a 90's kid and DON'T know the names of all of them, then that's sad.
