Our Mixed Feelings From The Fallout 76 Beta

Im gonna try to have a good time. the beta thing is mostly when i'm at work, but Im going to get a private server for my dudes and I as soon as possible.

The mixed feeling I’m getting is it’s not a fallout game.

I get the impression it would be more fun going in with friends as opposed to just interacting with randoms - especially if you had someone in the same room with you or voice chat... but even then I imagine the whole thing would wear thin fairly quickly. Some games just aren't designed for mp.

I honestly don't think Bethesda's "anti-grief" system will hold up against a bored player-base. Hell, a server full of "wanted murderers" blindly trying to hunt down one another will be the norm in about a month. The solo / PVE player won't stand a chance. If it takes 5, 10, 15 minutes to kill a pacifist, it's something to do.

The only time I can see this game being more fun is when private servers come along to prevent annoying public players. Once you can grab a few friends and play in your own server, it might be fun.

Some games arent made for mp. those who want every thing to be mp please stop pls stop . Just go and play fortnite.

So much negativity for this. I don't understand why people are against MP for Fallout. This looks enjoyable. I can wander the post apocalypse and screw around while playing with friends. That sounds like a good time to me. Idk, maybe I just don't take these games as serious as others. Ive loved the Fallout series since 3 (not a big fan of the original), and I've always thought it would be more fun if I could experience the game with others.

I never understood why there couldn't just be an option to play with a friend or two in any given Fallout or Elderscrolls game. Same world. Same game. Just...play with a friend, or you know, don't. The only thing you'd really have to disable when and if playing with a friend would be VATS. Boom, multiplayer Fallout that's still Fallout. There's seriously zero reason "multiplayer" always frigging needs to be "MASSIVELY multiplayer".

Predict 75-80 meta mainly cause Bethesda buys so much ad space with the gaming mags/sites.

I'm concerned that if Fallout 76 is anything but an abject failure, Online only is going the the the future of Fallout. I sure hope I'm wrong.

Drop this piece of shit. There's a New Vegas mod on Fall Out 4 coming real soon, and it looks 10 billion percent more interesting than this. They even re-record all the lines themselves.

TYPO: The sentence should read ‘... how long it can sustain itself’ not ‘... is can sustain itself.’ ?

So pretty much it has the exact same problem fallout 4 had. Big map some cool locations with nothing to do.

So far not looking like a Fallout game I'm going to pick up. And I have all the others. Hope they fix all the issues people are bringing up. Then maybe I'll consider it.

So it will be a 6 then.

I'm ambivilent at this time. There are improvements but I wasn't blown away by anything. Interaction with other players was nonexistent, though I made a couple of attempts. I'll have to do a lot more playing, trying out the crafting elements, more player interaction, etc. Still, a fun game.
