Paper Mario: The Origami King follows Mario and Olivia as they attempt to save Princess Peach and her castle from King Olly, Olivia’s origami brother. King Olly wishes to turn the whole world into his origami kingdom and will stop at nothing to achieve his goal, going so far as to turn anyone made of paper into origami. Peach’s castle gets covered in thick streamers and it’s up to Mario and Olivia to unravel them all.
The Paper Mario series has been around for 20 years, starting with the first entry on the Nintendo 64 in 2000. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door followed in 2004 on Nintendo GameCube, Super Paper Mario was released in 2007 on the Nintendo Wii, Paper Mario: Sticker Star was released on Nintendo 3DS in 2012, and Paper Mario: Color Splash was released for Nintendo Wii U in 2016.
