don't know about violent, but there have been case studies that have shown that video games make people angry and more aggressive. not sure about that last part.

@HenrySix: I believe those effects were rather short-term, though. And I think the same thing can happen in sports or any challenge based activity. But I can't be bothered to check, so disregard what I said.

@betzelel@HenrySix And terrible mechanics. But I mean anyone whose going to commit a physical crime against someone because they had a terrible experience in a video game should be dragged out and shot (worst case scenario), I mean if you're so broken you can't co-exist with terrible FICTIONAL REALMS, you have a big problem.

@40mdf0: The ads themselves are the problem but blocking the ads will only result in getting the other video player which is even worse. I can't load the website securely because the adverts won't play, which wouldn't be a problem if Gamespot would actually make the site HTTPS.
