I enjoy the idea of going back to Raccoon City and squad-based zombie killing, as long as it doesn't play like Left 4 Dead in Raccoon City.

Reminds me of Uncharted 1, when Roman's soldiers and descendants were both your enemies, and each others', I used always let the soldiers kill the descendants, then kill them :P

@ iknowthepiecesf That wouldn't be RE, that would be Dead Space. RE 3, 4 were great, only stuck up fans who can't see out of the box think it's not "good". RE 5 sucked, I don't need to mention that, again.

well, talking about going back to roots? i think that's not a good idea but moving forward is. Better look at the Dead Space serie, you will find out what a flawless survival horror game really is. Just copy the graphical style, item and inventory type and the whole mechanic of Dead Space, put zombies instead of mutated creatures and ta-daa the best RE game ever is created! IMO, RE 2 was a piece of art. But 3,4,5... they were made to suck money out of fans, not to make a great game.

If this game is about "going back to the roots", considering the title given, they better start to play RE 1, 2 and 3 and then remember what it was all about. RE 4 took a new direction, and fortunately, it turned out great and it really felt like Resident Evil. They tried doing the same with RE 5, and.. I can't really say it has worked.. I mean, talk about a real fun game, that's the one, but it's not RE as (dare I say) we fans of the series remember.. Sure it was nice to eliminate and send Wesker to hell with an RPG to his teeth, seeing Jill back and Chris... But, everything, it just wasn't there. I really hope Operation Raccoon City can bring a light of hope in this deep dark hole the series have dug itself into.. So glad they're bringing real zombies back.. Not so sure about trying to live with the past on today's world with this "Raccoon City" thing, who knows.. it could do some good.

I saw Dynasty Warriors, Gears of War and Left 4 Dead in there. Nothing RE about it though.

I could be great fun if ya work as team properly and not all charge in at once, keep ya distance like ya would if it were real :P........ i think its looking good and Nemesis, HUNK, William Birkin Awesome :D :D, ya know Nemesis will turn on ya because Mr.X does in one of the early videos

Will the UBCS from RE3 show up in this game? I'm LOVING the feel of this game. Even with shooter gameply, the soundtrack, herbs, zombies is bringing back the feel of RE2-3 days.

BTW - Are they using the RE1 engine? Sheesh. Ugly.

No way in hell this is going to even come close to the awesomeness that is Left 4 Dead, but I did enjoy the last RE game to some degree because of the co-op, hopefully this turns out to be fun.

I personally think that i would enjoy this game with my friends. I guess it will be challenging if it is played on the hardest difficulty with some cool boss to fight with.

Looks cool, just doesn't look scary. For a third person shooter on the 360, it doesn't compare to the run and gun monster action of Gears.

Well the the original survival horror from RE1 was more like Silent Hill. You don't get that much amno if you wasted it all. RE1 and Code Veronica, I had to run away from my enemies to conserve amno. RE1 came out before Silent Hill, both were moodier, had bizarre background music and tension created by enemies jumping out at you and bad camera angles the the RE today. Alone in the Dark is a survival horror. Silent Hill main random weapons like a lead pipe didn't sell as much as RE's bazooka and machine guns, so it moved toward the mob (majority of what buyers wants). Plus Survival horror plays a lot slower with more puzzles emphasis. RE4 and RE5 were closer to more action or fps. Dead Space is one game that reminded me of RE1 the most, they used all the same tricks, which I already seen.

I dont know about this will have to see more on it but by this video it seems as if they are moving away from the RE 4 and RE 5 style which I am not a fan of...

Finally zombies again! Grabing a zombie as human shield makes no sense 'though.

If it were not for the RE name, no one would care about this generic looking game. I dont remember fighting off waves of soldiers in any RE game. If I remember right, Capcom just farmed out the franchise for some no-talent company to make a Gears of Left 4 Dead clone.

I hope they will polish this game a little. Graphic looks kind of old. The concept is very interesting but, they should make it more like Rainbow Six/Dead Space instead of Gears of war/Dead Space. I love the co-op concept for this but, it looks kind of easy to just run and shoot.

The AI for team-mates, enemy soldiers and zombies seems confused - it's like it can't decide which enemy to go after.

Aiming AND strafing at the same time!?! Madness. Truly we must live in a futuristic world.

I have no idea why the AI decided to have combat devolve into a melee brawl at 3:30. Considering that the soldiers in this game are supposed to be canonically professionally trained, this looks barbaric.

What's the point of using a meatshield against zombies?

The army AI looks bad. Saw a lot just standing there taking bullets.

One thing I always wonder about zombie movies is why don't the survivors wear shark diving gear. I mean isn't that the best idea ever?
