The next big Tomb Raider game, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, launches in September, and it appears to be setting up a particularly interesting development for Lara Croft as a character. In a new GameSpot video feature, Jess McDonell talks about how Lara is single-minded, reckless, and lethal in Shadow of the Tomb Raider as she stops at nothing to achieve her goals.
In the previous two games, Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider, Lara felt more for the safety and well-being of those around her. Things are different in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, as right from the start Lara is shown as cold and unfeeling at times, pushing for her objectives at the expense of those around her. Further still, she kills enemies with a level of force and brutality we haven't seen before.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the third and final game in the new trilogy that started with 2013's Tomb Raider. The game, which recently went gold, is due to launch on September 12 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
While development on the base game itself may be finished, developer Eidos Montreal is likely still working on the game's Season Pass content. As announced previously, the Season Pass comes with seven "Paths" that include new missions, Challenge Tombs, and more.
