Can't stand the galactic civilizations and sins of a solar empire style of free-standing planets with no stars in sight. it kills the immersion

Thats right Ferna1234, everything in 'computer games' has to be realistic

..What a tool. Another shining example of the fact that gaming is lost on some people..

@ferna1234: And you think our rockets are fueled by what ? Magic ? There is no oxygen in space but the fuel is being oxidized by liquid oxygen or other oxidizers carried by the rockets, so yes they are obviously bursting flames.

Master Of Orion clone nb.74561

Seriously, is this the best what Sid can do these days? Maybe they should improve "beyond earth" before cloning games.

I tend to think of Sid Meier has a has-been, but then I play games like Ace Patrol that is very clear he actually made and I eat my worlds. Beyond Earth is a train wreck and an insult to Alpha Centauri, but I think this will be a really great game.

@Verenti: Wouldn't call it a trainwreck, it's fun for a few playthroughs. Considering it was always going to be compared to alpha centauri and civ 5 its a shame it was a step back from both of them when it came to depth and replayability though.

Biggest problem is the wonders and civ bonuses are so weak they really don't alter the way you play the game at all making most playthroughs pretty similar. I liked the satelites though

The one, the only, the REAL Sid Meier! Cool beans.

I didn't care about Beyond - I still play Alpha Centauri - but will buy this.

It just looks like any other tactics games. *shrug* Beyond Earth would have been really interesting if it had this kind of combat but instead we get two unremarkable games.

Is Sid Meier looking to run for Congress? Why else would he need so much money that he keep pumping out garbage?
