I am very excited about this.

What is especially smart is that, at first, I thought, there would surely be a full human civilisation spread to Andromeda within 600 years of technological development. That mission would arrive with stuff as comparatively outdated as a musket was to John Shepherd (assuming tech develops at a linear speed), so surely, in that long a time they make ships capable of making the voyage in a fraction of the time, overtaking the ship and arriving centuries ahead of them.

THEN! I realised that the jump gates are no more and that the place they left went through all the events of Mass Effect 3 just a year or two after departure... so they will be truly alone out there for the longest time. It is a good use of the Mass Effect Trilogy's story.

I love that the maps wont be just space-ships and station. I've been on the fence about getting this game soon, yet the worlds they've made seem rich and detailed....and jet packs.

Normally I'd stay away from this type of video, but I certainly liked what was going on once the action started.

Wait why would anyone want to watch the game before it's released instead of playing it? What happened to that go into a game fresh and enjoy what it brings us as we progress?

And seeing the prejudiced comments below makes me sick. Please if you are a hypocrite and prejudiced, stay in your basement and do not come out. The world does need more of your filth.

@Mogan: No I get that, that's why gameplay videos, trailers and reviews are out there. But to literally watch or read spoilers to determine if you want the game or not is totally sucking the fun out of one's own experience. But to each their own I guess

@Mogan: In long games 45 minutes dont tell you much at all. If you want to decide on buying, you "demo" it for two hours and get the idea. Well can demo it if you game on PC ;)

Also watching cant really tell you how the game feels gameplay wise.

@dudebropartyyo: I've been playing games long enough I can usually get a pretty good idea of whether or not I want to risk $60 by watching a decent quick look. It's also a BioWare game, so I've got a pretty good idea what to expect.

If I didn't need EA Access for the demo, I'd probably try that, but I'll be fine with some reviews and quick looks.

@crusaderprophet: snowflake means you are perpetually offended by peoples opinions that don't match your own.

What I find interesting in reading over some of your past comments is you lambast PewDiePie for making arguably tasteless, but obvious jokes that were taken out of context. Yet you defend Manveer Heir's real actual racism. You seem to be somewhat of a hypocrite, which I personally find abhorrent.

@fedor: Ermm so you are saying you are both a snowflake AND find yourself abhorrent?

Per your definition "snowflake means you are perpetually offended by peoples opinions that don't match your own" - seems like that describes majority of the comments in this section where people are offended somehow by this game including you. I'm not the one who is offended in the first place about this game, I mean I still don't get what is offensive in the game yet, so I am pointing out other snowflakes I guess?

Second, you seem to find yourself abhorrent being a hypocrite because somehow a man making a joke about an entire population of people who have been victims of genocide is okay with you (regardless of his intentions) but a developer who tweets sarcastic messages of racial prejudice that exists within SOME of the white community is racism to you...lol okay. Honestly, I never did much research on who Manveer Heir is or care about him. If he is a true racist my sentiments are same for him as for any other racist. But my point of involving him in a comparison was for a larger context about how he is still employed. If you went through the pain of reviewing my past comments and had better comprehension skills, you would get that.

Third, if the pewpie guy had made similar jokes in similar context in similar fashion of Americans getting slaughtered in 9/11 or Boston bombing, what will that come off as? I mean if an Indian comedian sends out a placard in Hindi to a redneck in Texas who never went outside his town, and holds up a message "death to Americans or Christians or Muslims etc" and references 9/11 or Syrian war or boston bombing or any recent massacre, just to show how illiterate that man is - will your view remain the same? I bet not...who is the hypocryte now.

There is a clear feminist propaganda behind the narrative of this game. A young girl is the leader of the ship over all of the more older and maturer crew? I call bullshit, It's about time EA stopped pushing this political agenda.

@longestsprout: The fact you've not heard of Manveer Heir or what he has said about white people, and his plan to force an agenda into his game because he doesn't like white people you might actually realize why I hold such a negative stance on this game and Bioware for not sacking an openly racist worker.

@longestsprout: It is impossible for any game to feature a female or minority protagonist without being accused of pushing some kind of agenda. People on message boards say games need to stop making such a big deal out of being inclusive, but it's the folk on message boards who seem to make the biggest deal about it. : \

That said, it would not surprise me if the player learns the sexual orientation of a whole lot of NPCs over the course of Mass Effect Andromeda.

Doesn't appeal to me at all. One of the major details that drawned me into the masss effect trilogy, was the...science fiction. Done right, in the first game especially. Near future, with lots of political, technological, and social ties into the present day. You could get a sense from the story, that it was OUR near future as a species. And it was believable. You could see the hard work put into it to feed us those small ties and links into our day and age.
600 years into the future , a different galaxy, not even conecting to previous is .... just lazy.
They are now free to not have to worry about those plot and writing thick juicy details, and to make science fiction just space magic all the way.
And that will make it a higly polished , big production, super hyped... bland and forgetable story.

A big production no doubt.Highly polished and streamlined....

And too far into the future, in a political environment with absolutely nothing to do with mankind.
I'm out.

@TigusVidiks: Yet that ground has already been covered. ...I agree, yet also look forward to what they come up with.

I'm assuming Bioware has a trilogy story in mind here; and that space-colony has to land by the end of the game. With all the trappings of human-drama ensuing.

This story does seem paper-thin at first glance (find a home), Yet I can only see it as a building block for more. I wonder what type of villain this game will have...

@gargungulunk:

Let's all NOT forget the massive hype propaganda campaign that EA/Bioware tittles have during the 2 weeks of launch. All the top sites will have payed reviews saying it's amazing and none will dare give it less than 8. A 9 will be the norm. Tremendous praises all around.

And it's only after a few weeks, a month or 2, when the first hardcore rpg gamers have actually completed everything, all the endings, found all the details, that you will start actually hearing balanced and accurate opinions. Before that it's all propaganda.

See - DA:Inquisition.

It was a masterpiece, with 9/10 all around. A button mash of a failed MMO turned RPG filled with fetch and grab quests.

ME3 - Amazing, according to reviews. And not one dared talk about the ending.

@cdragon_88: So having Asian people is a problem to you ? They are representing humanity and humanity has every kind of people. Unless, you wanted Bioware to throw in plenty of white folks in there. That would be a boring game with flop sales. Btw, JRPGs have white characters in them too. Why does everything have to be about skin color or race for some people.. I wonder.

@cdragon_88: You might have been joking, but you know deep down EA are trying their best to fit their quota of how many Asians, Blacks, and muh strong wuminz leader do I need to fit in this game before it meets the politically correct standing.

No politically correct game is complete with all of the above said and having a nasty WHITE MALE as the villain, lol.

Classic sexism and racism.

Curious how many people are signing up for EA/Origin Access to play the early access? Since you can cancel at any time (which I would do immediately) and technically you save a dollar (minimum) by doing it I am kind of considering it. Only thing is it's capped at 10 hours before you reach the story gate and I don't want to get all engrossed then have to wait a week. I mean I'm looking forward to it now but I'm still playing Wildlands and Zero Dawn so I'm not really missing it. But if I were to play it for 10 hours, it would be on my brain then, well assuming I don't hate it which I'm fairly certain I won't.\

So anyway, anyone planning on signing up for EA/Origin Access solely to play this early?

@PCsama: Well if you plan to get Andromeda then it is basically free. It costs $4.99 but by having it you get a 10% discount on Andromeda which all said and done actually saves you one dollar on the $59.99 price tag and you can cancel Origin/EA Access immediately after so that $4.99 is all you would ever have to pay for it. So technically assuming you will buy Andromeda signing up for it wouldn't cost you any extra at all, it would in fact save you money which is why I said I was kind of considering it. I have no interest in the service itself and would cancel it straight off but to play the game early when it costs me nothing, I was thinking about it.

You could just end this dripping and give us the complete playthrough. There's pretty much nothing left anyway. We know who squadmates are, we know who are the villains, we know what is the "starting problem", we know pretty much what planets we visit.

Unless it's another ME3case and everything has been changed due to this constant "leak"
