Things I knew before creating an account on GameSpot...

There is literally only one thing wrong with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - there is no simple way to get to the setup screen. You have to start a race and then quickly press the + button to get to it - that is a UI problem that really should not exist. All of those settings should be in a settings screen available from the main menu. But that is really the only flaw in the game.

Kallie & Jean Luc, DONT listen to all these moronic haters, I just got the game & have not played Mario Cart in years, and I actually REALLY needed these tips, so thanks so much for all your hard work. Many people will find this guide useful, but sadly mostly only negative and unhappy people are the ones who make comments! Keep up the GREAT job at GameSpot, millions of people appreciate the valuable information you share on a daily basis! AND for all you internet trolls out there, how bout you go play a game and try and get a little bit of joy in your lives instead of craping on other peoples hard work!!!!!!!

everytime I think of Mario Kart from this point forward (as I said to the guy way below in response) I think of Luigi Death Stare and that Youtube video w/ the rap song by Chamillionaire "They see me rollin' - they hating, they patrolling they trying to catch me riding dirty" lol

It's almost the exact same game that came out two years ago.

If you don't know something in this game then discover it, what does it matter? It's not like you have to redo everything you've already done. Pointless article!

Is it possible to switch between the two items you're carrying? (like in double dash)

Are you guys ever happy with not knowing lots in advance about a game?

I haven't clicked on one of these in awhile. I just had to pipe in though, I mean, come on Mariokart 8 Deluxe? It's Nintendo's simplest franchise to play, and they make games with the simplest mechanics.
