Why Assassin's Creed Syndicate got a 9/10

Isn't the purpose of the review to explain why it got a 9/10? So this is an explanation of an explanation?

5/7 - perfect game

After playing Black Flag, skipping Unity and playing Syndicate.. I will say BF is IMMENSELY better. I would give BF 8/10 and I will give syndicate like 6/10. The world map (London) is quite small compared to BF. The combat is not much different and the over gameplay and concept is the same just like any other Ubsisoft Open world game. The story in Syndicate is poor at best, crafting is nothing special or unique. The only thing the game has going for it is graphics mainly. The game looks good but its moderately fun.

I started to play AC: Syndicate, hoping that it would contain some sort of a meaningful story like from 2 too 3. In sequeance 4, after liberating 4 areas of London from Templar Control and doing the missions, I still don't understand what they are fighting for (well, besides the obvious "evil templars have the hocus pocus and we need it").

EDIT: also, the graphics look the same as Unity and, yet, the game forces me to play on "lowest" settings (good thing it's not 1980s - 2010ish - no pixels). Well, it's a good thing that even on lowest setting the graphics look like the highest on Black Flag or what evs.

No offence to Alexa but all the things she says she loved about the game that led to her give it a 9 were just completely mundane features that have been present in video games for years and should be expected as the bare minimum. Is she quite new to gaming?

I got the game based on Alexa's review, heavily biased review. Either scored so high because paid, female mc or fangirl. The story is boring, the combat is bland and easy, the customization is tedious and offers no variety among the two characters, bugs. It's a 7/10 at best imo, wasn't worth the day one buy. Ubi's going back onto my blacklist and gamestop on my do not trust list.

I put in about 15 hours +, the story never picks up and the characters contradict themselves too frequently. Their decisions seem random and irrational at time. Not going to spoil the ending for others but i basically had to force myself after quitting to go back and spend 2 hours to finish the game. It was brutal :(

EDIT: City of robots, the AI lost all personality, doesn't even react if you kill or beat someone anymore. Last but not least, this is a stealth action game that has almost zero stealth. NPCs can see you through walls, it's ugh. . I'm done my rant. Stealth game where stealth doesn't work.

This sounds less like people talking about this game, and more like a paid advertisement trying to hype it up.
Way to sell out for yet another review, gamespot.

I still don't understand why everybody have a grudge with ACIII. it's not going to compete with II, but it's a pretty good installment of the game. An yes, Black Flag is not for me. Naval combat is great when it's served as a side, when almost everything is naval, it's not Assassin's Creed anymore and doesn't interest me.

This one I'm looking forward to play. Only-thing bothering me is how in-practical that guy takes the leap of faith with that Top Hat intact. Always bother me!

The AC formula has gone stale for a while. They should focus on more than just making a pretty world.

Totally in the Josh camp here, there's nothing more jarring than the unrealistic feel of the standard checklist open playground that Ubi prints out every year...

Is this really an Assassin's Creed game. Well I remember an AC game as stylish sword fight, building climbing and amazing parkur. This game with cartoonish brawl, batman rope launcher is not assassin creed game.

meh.. looks like just another assassins creed. She would be SEMI attractive though if it weren't for that nose.

Shouldn't the reason why it got a 9/10 be discussed elsewhere? like say in the actual review of the game? Next we'll see videos titled 'Our review of our review of AC Syndicate.'

Every time they talk about "climbing Big Ben" I shed a tear.

Rather than this being a video justifying the review, I think it seems to try and connect the Lobby comments (which were mediocre and mostly mixed, with few outright excited or positive things said about the game) and the review. After listening to Danny, Josh and Ty on the Lobby, I did not expect this high a review and I knew that none of them wrote it before even checking.

Maybe this video should be watch after seeing the "Is Assassin's Creed Syndicate Better Than Unity? - The Lobby" video. And it seems like they at least talk about how different people like different aspects in games, taking some time to somehow consolidate two very different takes (The Lobby and the review).
