I'll buy it when it arrives for sure! I've already put about 80 hours into TW3, and I'm only lvl 18 and have yet to even travel to Skellige... wtf this game is huge! Being a big Witcher fan I was waiting for this game for a while, so I'm just taking my sweet time and soaking it all in... my advice is just to ignore question marks, there's no need to chase them all down, and most of the exciting stuff is elsewhere.

@nl_skipper: I decided to chase almost all of them down (only left some of the ones in Skellige Island waters alone), so you can imagine how many hours I have played (12 days, 3 hours, 58 min, and 38 sec). I enjoyed every minute of it.

I'll definitely purchase these. So far, I'm really enjoying the Witcher 3, despite there being a bug that crops up a bit often during menu navigation that seems to lock the whole game up. So as long as I'm saving often (and I do), I'm pretty much OK. A game this size has to be a programmatic nightmare, so a bug like this is a small nuisance to deal with vs. the highly enjoyable nature of the game itself.

There we go, just popped open GOG and saw the Expansion Pack. Sold.

YES I cant get enough of this game :D

I hope after witcher 3 is done they would do a dargon age-isk game set in the witcher universe

as in u pick a start-up mage that goes to oxenfert

a poor street vagrant that wants to be rich

an orphaned elf that watched his parents get rap-ed and murdered

...etc

it would be amazing to have different origin stories and new characters

Maybe they can sort out the narrative in these smaller expansions then, because Witcher 3 lost it due to bigger is not always better. The game in general would've been better off as a slightly larger Witcher 2, but with W2 world structure.

@gamingnerd121: maybe if you like more linear, hold-your-hand type games. i would always enjoy a more open and more option laden world than a few smaller maps you can't revisit.

but that's why there's some that are more action-oriented, with stricter paths, and simpler story lined games out there. and then also more complex, open-ended, more involved story lined games. so, we can all enjoy what we love.

You obviously haven't played Witcher 3. The story itself has taken a hit due to going ''open world'' and the content was stretched thin to fill it out. Several other areas were compromised in that process as well, not to mention shadows of what characters are actually like.

CDPR simply bit over more than they could chew, and it shows in the game.

Yeah, I bought them on release. I kind of go back to it now and then, but I've sunk nearly 150 hours into it already, and there isn't much stuff to do, especially anything substantial... I want to play it right now again actually. I think I will.

I hope they keep expanding on this game and don't just stop with the 2016 update. I'd happily pay for new regions.

COULD BE CONSIDERED MINOR END-GAME SPOILING!

After I had spent my 70 or so hours playing the main quest and indulging in side quests galore, going back into the world to do missions I had missed felt so empty that I quickly bored of it without the compulsion of an overarching story pressing me onwards. It kind of sucks that once you finish the game all your companions just kind of disappear. It would have been nice of they had left Ciri (I got her ending, and she was my favourite character) with me with some new chatter dialogue or something?

I hope in the expansions that as well as giving me a good reason to re-engage in the world, they bring back the main cast. I mean, they are the main reason I enjoyed the game so much.

@jecomans: I've read a lot of people (me included) feeling the same way. About finishing it, and the way that it removes all the main characters from the game after it. It just kills the immersion.

That way, one can't help but feel that the only way that such would make sense is to get the "bad" ending!! And even that wouldn't make total sense, 'cause no matter which "side" would win the war, you'll still see both on their posts, no matter what, so...

But after all, I guess it's normal, since Witcher 3 is clearly a story driven game, while Skyrim, for example, is quest driven. And if you look at the bright side, Witcher 3 is such a great game (like Skyrim also is), that I guess people simply just didn't wanted it to end. That being said, I'll most definitely purchase the expansions.

@digishah: If only you had a console command for more dialogue. I mean, c'mon, I just gave her a wicked looking new sword. Let me see it in action.

@jecomans: I actually understand your feelings and agree. Hopefully the DLC will help. It's not to say that the game isn't amazing and I feel like a spoiled brat for even complaining this much. CDProjektRed has been the best, THE BEST developer to date.

@ecrowe21: Totally. If the base game wasn't so good I wouldn't care about the end-game, or what might crop up in the DLC. The biggest fans are often the biggest critics (and you may say have the most right to be). I have some pretty major issues with the first two Witcher games, to the extent that I can't say I really enjoyed playing them that much. But, equally, it has always been obvious to me the level of raw talent that CDPR possesses. So for this to be my complaint I think says a lot about how far they've come as creators.

@jecomans Dude.... the game will introduce new lands and people that live in those lands, it will be good.: Yoou sound like you're bored in general, Witcher 3 keeps you so preoccupied that there is never time for depressive thoughts.

@brostepper: No, not bored. I had just hoped after how the main story ended that it would have more substantially carried over into the end-game. I didn't mean to say that I don't think that the expansions will be good - CDPR have finally proven that they can make a great game - there are just few things/people I would like to have included in them.

@jecomans Ya, many people want a game plus feature. In my opinion, as a gift to players, or as a bonus, CDPR should have made some sort of party mode. The main 4-5 players of the game should be abl to roam the open world after you are done with the main story, and more side quests should be opened up on completion. I guess that's why we'll be seeing the expansions though. :

@brostepper: If you're asking that, it must mean you haven't played the first two Witcher games. Shanti is a character in the first, and Iorveth is in the second. I won't tell you where they come into it, but they are pretty important characters in those games. Both characters are mentioned in three briefly.

@NTM23: I sided with Iorveth in my last Witcher 2 save but i don't remember him physically being in Wild Hunt even with that state. He was mentioned a few times as still being alive though. Can hope some DLC with Scoia'tael will bring him back.

@elessarGObonzo: Yeah, he's not in Wild Hunt. There's quite a few important characters from the first two that you might expect to be in there, but they're simply mentioned and don't make an appearance. Siding with Iorveth in the middle of the game (when deciding to go with him or Roche) has no effect on the third, it's the end one in which it's either follow Iorveth, or save Triss.

The first time I played it, I saved Triss, and honestly, I didn't love the game, so it wasn't until after I finished the first (which I really enjoyed), and a month prior to three's release that I went through it again. But I ended up not saving Triss this time, so when I went into three, I chose the one in which I didn't save Triss, and so I don't know what effect that has on which characters you might meet, as there is one from the first, and another from the second that you could potentially meet. They would otherwise (as I had it) die by the witch hunts.

I have to assume they're still not in it, and they're avoided some other way.
