Sega makes an outstanding visual improvement as well as some other enhancements for their new Virtua Tennis 3.
Some new features for Virtua Tennis 3 include the all the new Minigames, for which you can play up to 4 players in 10 different Minigames. You may though only find yourself repeating few Minigames because some of them are just complete and utterly dull.
A vast improvement Sega has triumphed with is Virtua Tennis 3's stunning visuals which are more than up to date. The most realistic sentiment, is when you are using Roger Federer who looks almost exactly the same as in real life.
Beside the amazing graphical improvement, Virtua Tennis 3 maintains its strong highly-replayable gameplay which resembles nearly precisely the same as Virtua Tennis 2.
Virtua Tennis 3 contains the same modes (besides the Minigames) like in VT2 which comprise of World Tour, Tournament and Exhibition. World Tour feels rather similar like before, except with some slight enhancements which really don't make much difference. The Tournament mode is practically just playing the VT2 Tournament, because there is no new feeling towards it. Finally the Exhibition mode adds the new feature of playing multiple sets, whereas in VT2 you were only able to play 1 set matches.
Despite the positive things about the game, the bad things as one I've mentioned above, is the fact that VT3 feels pretty much a replica of its predecessor. Another thing I dislike about the game is how you can no longer play Doubles Tournament with one player minimum, as it now requires two human players to play the mode. One of the most aggravating missing features is the online mode which is featured in the xBox 360 version, but not the PS3 version.
As a comparison to a competing game named Top Spin 3, VT3 would win due to its better graphics, stronger gameplay and better modes.
Even though Virtua Tennis 3 feels the same as its predecessor, it manages to hold itself through its solid graphics and gameplay. The Minigames mode only makes a slight impact as a benefit for the game because most of the Minigames are boring and make you not want to replay them.
So overall, it is a very enjoyable game despite the similarities with VT2, but you will still enjoy it otherwise. I would recommend this game to players who enjoy Tennis and fast, intense action. I hope my review helped.
