Wacky Races (1991)

Oookkkkk. A really old cartoon makes an ok game. Heh.

I'll have to say even though the game starts off CRAZY easy the boss battles are a bit tough. Maybe it is just me but when I beat a boss I like it to STAY DEAD. Not pop back up and have to do it all again.

Who ever made this did it right. Good sound effects, good use of color, level design isn't to bad, good power up system as well. Even though the 2D platform game type is done over and over with the NES this manages to bring some new life to it. Collecting "coins" has a purpose other than just points. Nab those bad boys and power up your guy. It will remind you a lot of Gradius in that way.
