This game brings back memories from my younger childhood, mainly from third and fourth grade. It even has online capability if you can find a buddy to hook up with. Though, I have never used this feature before, so I do not know what it is like. The campaign mode on this game has some high points and low points. Most of the dungeon levels are pretty boring and lack any depth, but the swamp and forest levels that allow you to build your own fortress/city/war machine/thing can be interesting save the first few basic missions to create a few buildings and train a couple soldiers or peasants/peons. The single game feature is nice when you just want to play a quick game against another town, but they all end up being the same after a while and it gets old. Despite the repetitiveness of this feature, it is unusually addicting and is guaranteed to give you hours of fun. This is a nice game for first-time RTS players due to the simple gameplay and instant action, but for more weathered players, this game will seem too basic with too few features, and they may find it too slow-paced. The graphics are definitely fitting for '94, and the sound-effects are pretty gruesome but repetitive. I remember having nightmares of them when I first played the game. They usually included many people dying making the same sound everytime. Oh, the horror. Warcraft is a great way to get started with an RTS, and it can provide a few hours of fun if you let it. Though, good luck trying to find a copy of it. This is a good game for a while, but for those who have played many a RTS before, try Warcraft 2 or 3.
