to not justify getting chaos rising is heresy!! its that good.. the emporer said so.

User Rating: 9.5 | Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Chaos Rising PC
chaos rising is the first expansion to dawn of war 2. it introduces the chaos army to the fray and delightful new story for the members of your squads from the previous dawn of war. its a lot more well paced. missions are longer and a lot of game mechanics have been given a glossy reworking that might as well be considered flawless. this being said however the job is still unfinished and for those seeking a real rts experience you still need to seek other developers works for that kind of game.
the multiplayer with the new chaos army and the new units for all the races truly have reworked the game and its gotten considerably more fun. last stand (as simple as it is still) has become even more interesting as the tyranid and chaos now have representatives to play as which are truly fascinating to play.

graphics: this game got a face lift, a big one even those with dawn of war 2 without chaos rising will get to see some of the changes (dynamic weather, battle damaged units, improved visuals for directx11 environments). however i do feel that the graphics card requirements are off and that needs to be addressed at some point i feel a slightly more capable set of cards is needed such as an hd 2900 series or geforce 8800series to max out

gameplay: the AI also got a fix that i love and many old abuses from both singleplayer and multiplayer have been fixed for the better. the story is much better, and the missions are again longer and more lucrative equipment wise. you truly need to use the wide range of skills available to each unit a lot more effectively than previously in dawn of war 2. the AI however has gotten a little more methodical even on lower difficulties.. there are points where you will begin think fights are unfair. but they are 100% winable

audio: this is where i feel the game hasn't reached its full potential.. some of the voice acting is too quiet that you don't notice it and many of the voices have been changed.. but the combat audio and in-game audio are top notch and the tutorial level is ridiculously well done. which for me is the most important change.. first impressions are always important and if you cant sell a game to a buyer by level one your going to want your money back.

overall this game is rated highly in my books. its not perfect but most things that this game doesn't do to a superb end are nit picky at worst. warcraft 3 can rest easy knowing the next rts/rpg hybrid (worth noting) has conquered the mountain top of expectation.
force commander kills nine and a half cultists.. out of 10
