A review made after i played the game since it has comed out , so if you whant to know the game 4 real,Read this ..!?.
Lets take one part out of the way , the story is better that the other DoW games & the campaing has a more compeling structure but compared to other RELIC games or RTS's the story is kinda something that only a WH fan whould like in full , but still the campain is superb , if you liked the CoH way of dealing with the campain well you will surely like this because welll you know its blody warhammer !
The way that you should aproach this game is the same most of you aproached CoD4 not for the campain but for the multiplayer ! Practacally by not using base building Relic changed the rules of the RTS totally , it goes like this build order is not important , tactics that are allways shifting is important , with the fact that you don't have any ANTI VEHICLE units when it counts the most , you can say you allmost lost , but still with a good party in the 3vs3 or 2vs2 mode you can still come from behind surprisingly i saw myself loosing , when i tought i was wiining the other party turned it around with only 43 victory tickets left , its like a soccer,football, basketball thing if you loose focus you loose ! To be onest i have never played 1vs1 , its just not in to me because this game , this entire way of playeing gives you a feeling that teamplay is the only way !
The graphics & sound effects are spectacular in fact , at the moment this RTS engine that RELIC is using at the moment is the best an rTS could ever had & its not only because it looks good , like in Coh it shifts the tactics , in some way its like Valve's Source when it 1st comed out !
I hope you willl be open minded & give it a try , yes it dosen't have base building but 1one thing is for sure RELIC made a bald step further , when Blizzards SC2 looks like an expansion in 3D ! PLS don't get upset i'm biting my nails after SC2 being a fan my self , because SC was a real stamp in my childhood , but still fact is fact & some times the studio that is more ambitious gets away with it :) !
