First off, the into movie blew me away. It was an amazing battle sequence, and rose my expectations greatly. That lasted for about 10 seconds, as this is a RTS game flawed beyond enjoyability in multiple ways.

Visually, this is a decent game. It looks good and performs well even on less than state-of-the-art machines. However what it has in visuals, it gives up in gameplay mechanics and interface.

While things move in a fairly standard way for a RTS, combat feels watered down because of a percentage based hit system that often has two squads fruitlessly hacking at each other for what seems like ages. Hero charactors level up and gain abilities, however even the most powerful spells and combat abilities feel weak and usually just a waste of time.

There is no quick battle option, so you are forced to play the campain, which starts off boring, and doesnt get better as the game goes on. Getting introduced to a new unit type is cool, because you're always thinking "maybe this squad will be awesome"... but it's never the case, and by the time I finished the empire campain, I was really not interested in playing the Chaos.

Overall, if you have some previous interest in Warhammer, or like coloring units and building theoretical armies, there may be some content in here for you. However, for the majority of RTS fans, your money would be better spent elsewhere.
