After years of playing this game, it has finally shaped up to be good, and has the potential in the future to be better

Warhammer online is a pvp game. It delivers pvp in many different ways, and as the years have gone by it has fixed most of it's problems up to now, May 2011. However, the game is linear in the fact that if you aren't highly motivated to do pvp.... then the game fails. The pve is only 'OK' and the game has struggled to integrate the two successfully without making gear in the pve part better than in the pvp part of the game. In the past pve gear has been better, but now pvp gear is better. There are some pieces of gear which are good in pve dungeons. But, pve will never be the strength of this game, and it may never even reach DAOC's pve. In time this could change, but for now it's disappointing in overall content. There are a few high level raiding instances which are decent though.

Secondly, the game really depends on your time spent. Not uncommon for an MMO. This game is not much different in that way. You need to spend time learning your character, and getting your gear etc. in order to be great. You don't have to be particularly skill full at the game, although it helps in the end with the frustration of failing against other players who know what they are doing. This game being as old as it is now, is full of high ranked players. Ranks go up to 100 now, and this game has plenty of 90's right now. Soon there will be many 100's running around in the lakes.

Warhammer offers a hard core pvp experience. The game suffered in the beginning with too many servers, and many bugs. As of right now there are still class overbalancing issues. That however is to be expected for any pvp game. This game is for dedicated pvp'ers, and to me has the market cornered in that area. There is no other game that can provide the amount of classes, specialization, and overall variety in pvp like War can. So even though this game got off to a bumpy start it as risen a bit. People who love pvp, and are driven to do well, will take this game off their shelf. My next review will hopefully talk about how this game is legendary. But, for now it's great, and has the potential to be unforgettable as Mythic attempts to appeal to the pvp base they initially sought after in the beginning when they made this game.
