Wario stars in this classic platformer. And it's still one of the best games for the Game Boy ever.
The game starts with Wario crashing his plane in some random woods. He goes in a nearby cave and finds a music box. It transports him into another world where he has to find 6 other music boxes to...you know what? Who the heck cares? All you need to know is that you have to find items, defeat bosses and of course, save the day. Each stage has 4 treasure chests, they're colored in gray, red, green and blue. And you have to find the matching keys before opening them. You need to find certain items and power ups in order to progress. The gray ones are the easiest to find and unlock.
You can't die in the game, except for the final boss battle. That's the only time you could see a game over screen. So, does that mean the game is terribly easy? Not at all, enemies can help you progress, but when you're hit, they usually set you back. The same goes for boss fights, which are all great. If they win, you have to baktrack a little and try again. But it's not a problem at all. The game's length is quite impressive and it'll take you a couple of hours to get everything you need to get to the final boss. Note that you dont have to find every single treasure in order to finish the game. The golf minigame, which you have to complete every now and then, isn't that good. And it can be difficult, and sometimes near impossible. The game looks great, it's the best looking Gameboy game I've played at least.
If you haven't played the game, and can manage to find a copy somewhere. Highly consider to give it a go.
