Looking at the box, and reading the reviews from my peers, I should have known better. Some of the previews were, "just wait, it will grow on you." Others were more to the point - "DO NOT BUY THIS GAME." I wish I would have listened. I always tell myself, 'all those people don't know what I like, so I shouldn't trust their judgment;' WRONG. ***SPOILER ALERT*** The game is simple as a button Masher, with a couple of "bombs" that require more finesse. This game reminded me of an Untold Legends -wannabe! I hate not being able to go into spaces I want, the monsters are stupid and predictable. You know where they are because of our map, and they have a light that glows before they can see you. It didn't feel like there were any "random" encounters. Still, as a button masher, just hacking things is fine. More problems arise when you attempt the complex access of "home base." Your in an area, again similar to Legends, where you can talk to your boss, your trader, and the magic lady. Nothing is very easy. The trader situation is very unclear, where in order to get anything, it has to be bartered. You never actually have money just "things." It becomes so complicated that eventually I just gave up dealing with it, all the fun was gone. Same with the magic lady. Again, not self explanatory, and any changes you do to your weapon has no easily seen change to your money or experiences, or kill rate. I wished that I had listened to others and just rented this game. As a rental, I would have probably played it for the same amount of time that I did, it would just have saved me $25 bucks!
