Being an utter computer game junky for good past 12 years it is easier sometimes to remember past years in terms of the games I played. This game is an amazing blend of simple concepts (you fly between solar systems, trade, fight), which is very balanced. Depending on the blend of items you find in the beginning and nebular/stellar configuration your strategic and tactical choices will be totally different. Heavy penalty for returning back to base, need to return if you stumble over black hole, hostile fleet over the system you are flying toward, ... will present you with a plenty of options to choose from and bear all the consequences if your choices were not properly analyzed. It is very refreshing and addictive game. If you enjoyed playing "Master of Orion" long ago and too busy working/taking care of kids, etc. nowadays, then definitely give this game a chance. You will not regret it.
