"It's a WET Dream"

If you like over-the-top action movies from the 1970's, you'll love Bethesda's Wet; because that's exactly what it's like. Rubi Malone is a bounty hunter or something who always seems to get into trouble. The plot is simple; you've been tricked into killing the wrong guy, and want revenge.

Although Rubi has a limited array of moves, they are simple and fun to use. Ever wanted to jump into the air, do a backflip, land on someone, and chop their head off, in slow motion, all while simultaneously shooting two people in the face? You can do that and so much more in Wet. The game conveniently combines three aspects: Aerobics, shooting, and sword fighting; which, as we all know, is an incredibly awesome combination. The game features an original, and unique punk rock-style soundtrack. Most of the songs are very catchy. Although the story mode is relatively short, there is a challenge mode which is unlocked by beating the game; as well as several difficulty levels for story mode.

There isn't a lot of repetition in Wet, though some parts of the game are very similar. A lot of the game requires you to kill people in a room, and destroy the entrances they use to get inside, preventing more enemies entry. At some points you will find yourself riding on the roofs of cars, and shooting at enemies in other motor vehicles. Every once in a while, Rubi enters "Rage Mode" in which everything turns to a trippy red, and your score multiplier increases more easily; awesome music plays during these events.

Every once in a while, the game is interrupted by some short video, resembling those which would be seen at a drive-in movie during the time; which does get annoying after a while, as it has nothing to do with the plot or anything. If you are not a fan of excessive use of "inappropriate" language, you will find the dialogue gets old and irritating quite quickly. Apparently, Rubi has a dirty mouth, is a very bad girl and needs to be punished; if you know what I mean.

Considering the assortment of combat styles, and amusing soundtrack, this game is just plain fun. Unless you are put off my the constant swearing, Wet is definitely worth the money.
