Not Level-5's Best But then again Not Their Worst
The story of White Knight Chronicles begins in the kingdom of Balandor, where a princess' coming-of-age banquet is raided by an evil corporation called Magi. A boy called Leonard grabs the princess' hand and leads her to safety in the castle cellars, where he finds a strange suit of armor that transforms him into the White Knight – an ancient warrior with the strength to defeat Magi's forces. The leader of Magi is a general called Dregias. Nobody knows what Dregias looks like, because his body and face are hidden under his dark armor. What is known is the fact that he is capable of transforming into the winged Dark Knight.
The story how ever suffers from a typical safe way to portray a JRPG And sticking it into a more meh story line Yea, you guessed bad story telling. I guess this bugs simply because whats important about a RPG Is its story line And how they portray it.
The plot is Average and the ending wasn't what i would call satisfying. The cast vasts from the average female and main character with a touch of some other peeps, Its not a bad cast nor is it great but the positive is once you get used to it and clock in some play time with the characters the results are pretty good i mean at least you dont get the usual cocky teen or showing of your skins and male areas with an annoying pitch voice like other RPG'S *FINAL FANTASY 12* Regardless The main character is Leonard others are... Eldore, Yulie, Caesar Princess Cisna and other characters. The graphics are quite meh as well some terrine in towns look very dull and you see your self walking with practically blank environments once you enter the world Of White knight you start to seems pretty visuals etc etc witch is a positive none to less its always nice to look around some really cool creatures and the world around you WCK Offers that.
The gameplay is quite the draw back to some but personally its an acquired taste but still has potential, It can be sluggish from time to time in my eyes it works and it does the job right doing an interesting combo system and maintaining a slick interface. It holds a third person perspective The player can freely choose which character to control. Like most other RPGs, the characters gain experience points and level up, becoming stronger over the course of the game. Level-5 conceives White Knight Chronicles as having 100 hours of gameplay, a length Akihiro Hino considers to be a full length RPG, going against the pressure to make White Knight Chronicles a launch title and cutting the story short.
Its not an auto attack like other RPG'S You pretty much raise a circle Gage then attack your opponent, make combos name them cast spells it has a MMO Vibe but personally its my cup of tea sometimes you can feel a little isolated and more of grinding with it, I still like it and sometimes i think they could of executed it more properly but still i appreciate the newly created system.
But the drawback from me isn't that tittles "ratchet circle to some" its that its broken, unfair. For instance you battling a boss and this dude can beat the living snouts out of you, simply they can hit you no matter where you are but you have to go up to their distance and attack them now it would be hectic to have a huge monster scorpion creature chasing you down to maw you so trying to make a little more slick they supposably had to cut that short sometimes its annoying other times you wont notice it.
And the last piece to the puzzle to make WCK's battle system by distinguished different from others is to turn in to a giant knight and beat stuff sounds cool, it is but the drawback with that is It's easy! I mean it draws back the difficulty ten fold for that, that reason only along with somewhat annoying complaint i had earlier makes a MEH Combat and a to easy difficulty, not saying the game suffers from something as A child play game but still a little to casual for hardcore RPG Fans or at least people who know the roots behind Role Playing games.
The last piece to the puzzle is... Online!
Georama
This system is an online mode that lets the player create his or her own town. It can function as lobby and allows to set up a shop. People can enter this virtual town and also take a look around. The editing mode functions as a system that can be placed from a list of objects ranging from houses and other garden accessories to anything customizable for the town. Towns can be placed in the middle of plains, deserts, or wilderness. There are six different field types. Other items can also help to shape the hub, e.g. elevated platforms, embankments, trees, and other items.
Non-player characters can be recruited to towns from Story Mode. This makes the player's Georama change depending on whoever living in it. Non-player characters have jobs and specific skill levels, which will affect the kind of materials and items available to use in Georama. Each player has their own Geonet that can create up to 20 Georama rooms.
On this note, a maximum of 12 people can visit a customized town and 4 including the host can enter a quest room.
Online Is AMAZING! End of the day it was a disappointment for its hype but not a bad game by any means *Cross Fingers* Dark Cloud 3 Sigh...
