A great installment from Level 5. Great story, amazing sound, beautiful graphics along with boring gameplay.

I was excited to hear that Level 5 is making a game for the PS3. Especially if your an awesome Knight. I played Dragon Quest VII and Rogue Galaxy (Level 5's earlier installments) I loved both of those games. Rogue Galaxy was one of the greatest RPG's I have played, so you can see why I couldn't wait for White Knight. Lets start with the story. In the beginning you make a character in great detail, I loved the idea but he doesn't play a big role in the story line. You are Leonard, he works for a winery and transfers the wine from town to town. So you have to transfer the wine to a village in the starting of the game, and you take the "new guy" with you. The new guy is the character you created. He is mute, which is disappointing I wanted him to be more involved, and he can be kinda creepy just standing there in the middle of scenes. So you go and transfer the wine and get to Yulie (your friend). It is Princess Cisna's birthday and she is going to have a huge birthday party for her. Her mother was assassinated 10 years ago, so she is depressed. So Leonard wanted to get back before the birthday party starts. Make a long story short, a mysterious group named the Magi came when the party started and killed Cisna's father (the king) and Leonard takes Cisna into safety under the castle ( Leonard was friends with the Princess). They we're getting cornered by the Magi and there was a huge Knight locked up under the castle, and there were rumors going around that Cisna can unlock the Knight. Out of panic Leonard took the gauntlet that laid before the Knight and put it on Cisna did a chant and Leonard becomes the Knight. He fights off a couple of Magi, but Cisna gets kidnapped. Now you have to follow the Mysterious Magi, in order to save Cisna. There are twists and turns through out the journey. I thought the story was amazing. It is very unique. The characters are fun to be around and memorable.

Lets go to the graphics, the scenery is breath taking. Sometimes it does repeat itself, like not the map but the look. But it doesn't matter it still looks great. The clothes are good looking also. The downfall to the graphics are the faces, they look lifeless. And the Knights look amazing. There is a lot of detail in them.

Lets talk about the gameplay, it was fun for the first 15 hours. But then got boring. The combat is a lot like Final Fantasy 12, you wait for a meter to go up and then you pick your attack. The concept was good, but got quickly repetitive as well. There is SP (Skill Points) that you earn when you level up. You can have a staff, axe, sword, longsword, or bow. They all have unique attacks. You can take those attacks and put them together as a combo. I loved the fact that you can do that, but its really not worth it. You can use slash (the most basic attack you can have) through the whole game if you wanted too. But that would be boring. The SP and the money is kinda useless through the game. You get so much, and there is really not much to get with it. But when you wait for your AC ( Attack something, I can't remember what it stood for) to go up you can turn into the White Knight. Which is very awarding and satisfying to play as. It is awesome to see your party do the combos you made for them. Like I said the combat can get boring, and the battles can be drawn out for so long. But the story and sound makes up for it all. Lets just say the story is so good, that you want to play through the whole game. But a side from all that, the battles can get intense. The clothes and armor are awesome looking, there is a wide variety of swords and accessories (something that Level 5 has been good at)

Alright, now on with the Music/sound. Just like Rogue Galaxy, the music is wonderful to the ears. I love the melody's they play. And the voice acting is superb. Each voice fits each character. Some side characters are annoying, but thats what you get from a JRPG.

I thought this game was extra fun and the story was enthralling, I can't wait for the next installment to the series.

I couldn't play online sadly, my internet hasn't been working for my PS3 and PSN has been turning on and off. I wish I could have played online with the game. I heard it is really fun.
