This game proves offline and online rpg's can coexist!
The good: This game gets a lot of things right. The story makes you feel like your part of it. The story isn't a final fantasy 7 quality, although it doesn't need to be. The story is more of a training for the online portion of the game. As far as the customization goes, you won't be dissapointed. There are over 500 different weapons in the game, and they are all sick! There hundreds of armours and shield's also. The online portion is even better. There are tons of side quests that can be played offline or with others online. You also get to build your own town that others can visit. It is also a place that you start quests.
The bad: The story can get kind of like "when is the game gonna end!". it's not that it's long, it just gives the appearance it's gonna end, and then wham! another 3 hours and then wham! again. Also, since the only character you can take on quests is your custom avatar, leveling up the other characters feels like a waste of time. Another issue is the difficulty. The game is far to easy except for a few parts which are very difficult. Another annoyance is the learning curve. It could take hours to fully grasp the concept of the skills and ability slots.
Thats pretty much it. Overall I gave this game a 9.5 heres the break down:
Gameplay:9.0
Difficulty:7.0
Graphics:9.5
Replayability:10.0
