A great set of games that are fun and addicting - great multiplayer!

User Rating: 9 | Wii Sports Resort (w/Wii MotionPlus) WII
First of all, the number of different games or modes is pretty large. Much more than the 12 'categories' that first appear on the menu, as some of these split up into different modes.

There are no training exercises like in Wii Sports, but most modes have their own ranking system where you can earn Pro status just like Wii Sports. There also aren't any medals - but instead, you can be awarded Stamps, basically achievements, for doing specific things. For example, in archery you earn a stamp for getting 3 bullseyes in a level.

The games are for the most part, a lot of fun. Table tennis and archery are my favorite. In table tennis the way you hit the ball determines the spin very realistically, making it a game that's easy to pick up and play, but gets tougher as you face higher ranked opponents and have to utilize the spin well.

This is really the essence of Wii Sports Resort - the games are easy enough to play for almost anyone, but mastering a game can become a challenge - making for a great multiplayer experience. Even the 'worse' games of canoeing and cycling can be fun going against a friend.

Golf and bowling return from the original - with golf improving in putting, and draw/fade applies depending on how you strike the ball. The frisbee game also comes with a frisbee golf mode.

The motion plus works great - swordplay and frisbee both show off the 1:1 movement well. The calibration issue is also dealt with well and doesn't really become an issue like with the M+ tennis games. You just have to point and click on the screen at the beginning of some games, and if you feel out of sync you can pause and calibrate at any time.

Overall it's a great package with more gems than duds, and really, even the bad games aren't all that bad. Online support for some games or an online scoreboard would have been nice, and a new version of tennis could have significantly improved the game, but it's still another winner, and a must have for any Wii owner!
