I watched Back to the Future 2 last Friday and it made me feel a little nostalgic so I went and pulled out a classic for the NES light gun or Zapper as I called it. That's right it's time buckaroos to play Wild Gunman. This port from the arcade was released for the NES in 1984 and I have to say they made a good move porting this to the NES because lets be honest how many of us wanted to be a gunman when we were little? I know I did. I remember playing endless hours of cops and robbers in the back yard with my cousins and friends. Now you can do it in the privacy of your own bedroom, or wherever else your NES was hooked up. There are 3 modes for this game: 1 outlaw, 2 outlaws and Gang. I'll talk about each mode, In 1 outlaw also referred to as Game A it's pretty obvious you face one outlaw each round, he'll come walking out and facing you, you don't fire until he does and if you shoot before he says to shoot he runs off the to the side and shouts "Foul" Wow, I don't remember there being so many rules in the wild west, anyway back onto the review. That was Game A, Game B which is 2 outlaws basically takes place on the same background with cactus's 2 outlaws will come out like one did in Game A, they'll both face you and one will say Fire, it's your job to kill them. Just so you know, you don't have to wait for both to say fire, once one says it than it's ok to shoot. after you kill the outlaws in both Game A and Game B you'll be assessed a score depending on how quick you were. Now onto Game C which is the Gang, when you hear the word gang what do you think? 10 or more people right? I mean a gang is a group of people correct? Well in Game C you go from the static background of the desert to a static outside view of a saloon you have 4 windows and a door so your betting the job is to kill the 5 people who appear right?......Right? wrong, that's right they send 2 people out at a time, it's random where they'll appear, unlike the Game A and B you don't have to wait for them to say Fire though, so once you see them blow them away! It makes me wonder why only 2 at a time? I guess it's a question that will linger to the end of time. It's nice to see this game in a Movie, Back to the future 2 I'll admit how they made the games of the future sound so adult compared to the games of the past as Kid like because you had to use a gun. This game gets a 9.5 out of 10 mainly because of two things, the limited character models and the fact that when you say Gang it should be a gang. Other than that it's a solid game. To help you re hash those days you longed to play cops and robbers.
