Possibly the best game evr, full stop, let alone best football game ever. FIFA, p*** off! ;D
Forget Pro Evo 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 or whatever, forget FIFA 07 or any other FIFA game; in fact, forget any football game that's ever been made. This eclipses even Sensi. Featuring everything that was fantastic about last year's version, but MUCH better. Everything from the fantastic shooting model down to the tiny details such as performing the Matthews Dribble or blasting a dipping volley into the top corner is PERFECT.
I won't lie to you, this game is HARD. Not Ghosts 'n' Goblins-hard. but damn hard still. Scoring will test you in all areas of the game. Making space, playing the intelligent ball, getting a great finish and hopefully a good end product. But once you get past the first obstacles, it doesn't seem difficult anymore, it's just part of the game. For the same reason even Chelsea and Manchester United don't win 8-0 or 12-3, it's naturally part of the game to be chellenging to score, and it's perfectly balanced.
Game modes, obviously Master League returns, as good as ever, and it will probably take over your life until next October. Aside from Master League, there is the usual assortment of leagues and cups to win, and a new Random Selection mode, where you pick a league or a nation, and the game automatically picks a random team of players fro the group you have chosen It's great fun, especially with a friend.
Speaking of friends, there is of course the online mode. Unfortunately, i don't have access to it, but you at least know it's there, and from what I've heard it's all you've hoped for.
Then comes the inevitable licensing argument. No, it still doesn't have fully licensed teams, leagues, players and tournaments. But it is showing signs of improvement. The Dutch, Spanish, French and Italian leagues are fully livcensed, along with Manchester United and Chelsea from the Premiership. There are also other licensed sides such as Juventus, Bayern Munich, Olympiakos and Porto.
If your team isn't licensed, or isn't in the game at all, the extensive edit mode can help you out. It is actually possible to create a near perfect copy of your team, if you're good enough. I had a go with Southampton, and it came out surprisingly well, and I'm not even good at doing taht kind of thing.
The only tning i can criticize is the commentary, but that's to be expected, and it's notning which affects the game itself.
Anyway, all in all, Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is a fantstic game, and an essential purchase if you have even the slightest interest in the beautiful game.
