This addictive, difficult racing game is fun to play, i highly recommend Wipeout Pulse.
On the PS2, to may knowledge there was only one, Wipeout Fusion, i don't recall anymore except for the 2 PSP games, Wipeout Pure and Pulse. Wipeout Pulse is close to XL and Pure combine.
The graphics for a psp game, is incredible. And has a fantastic art-syle. Futuristic and Fast, but not as fast as F-Zero. The framerate keeps up, is all around a technical acheivement. The gameplay is racing, with a little of combat items to help you out. It's very satisfying to play, and you'll sucked in and addicted to it after a while. Uh-Oh.
The controls are just excellent, and just no problem what so ever. The replay value is high, and has lot of courses to choose, but i think there should have be more automobiles, or at least unlock them. Maybe they think 8 is enough, but i don't think so.
The music is basic futuristic sounding music. Sometimes Amusing. Gets annoying.
The gameplay modes includes of Tournaments, Speed Laps, Time Trials, and Zones. Tournaments include from 4-8 course. Speed Laps includes 1 stage going 7 laps, and must complete 1 lap in a certain matter of time. Time Trials is of course 1 course, 3 laps, beat your best. Finally Zone, is a ifinite lapped speedy experience. Starts off slow, goes very fast afterwords.
The main courses are easy, but get extremely difficult, and i mean really difficult, we are talking about one of the hardest racing games ever made.
If you played F-Zero, you'll fell at home here. This addictive, difficult racing game is fun to play, i highly recommend Wipeout Pulse. Heck, even Wipeout Pure is pretty good too.
